So Anti-ParadoX answered most of my questions about why Kuga resents Simmons so much.
(spoilers below)
[[MORE]]He’s not only envious of her abilities; he also thinks she doesn’t deserve them because she doesn’t “love science” like he does. He seems to have reached that conclusion because Dr. Yuki was what inspired her to be a scientist; then his opinion is reinforced by Simmons’s refusal to use her abilities to perfect the weapon to eliminate Digimon.
In other words, he’s a childish little jerk who thinks his opinion is the only correct one. And while he acknowledges his scientific failures and shortcomings, he’s conceited to the point of saying God made a mistake by giving Simmons the talent that’s rightfully his.

Why did God grant that woman talent…? She’s someone who aimed to become a scientist after watching anime…

I love science more…! I would give my life for the sake of “scientific progress”…

God’s mistake was granting talent to those who don’t love science…! If only you, a genius loved by God, would get serious…

I’m the one who can put your talent to better use! I am the one absolutely devoted to the truth of science…!
So it’s not that they had some big falling out, or that Simmons mistreated him as her assistant. He simply hates her because she’s smarter than him, and he thinks she doesn’t deserve to be.
Overall I was pretty disappointed in the DLC, though not because of that; I think it does fit his character, and a satisfying amount of backstory got filled in. But there wasn’t much real action, and I thought it barely touched on the actual plot involving the X-Program. (And there was absolutely no mention of Yggdrasil, which… I was really looking forward to seeing how they handled the X-Evolution movie Ygg alongside TS!Ygg.)
I was also very disappointed that, unlike all the other parallel-world characters in the DLCs, Kuga did not learn a single damn thing. No growth or character development. Didn’t realize Dorumon saved his life and almost died for it, wouldn’t have cared if he did know it. The only satisfaction we get is “ha ha Asuna’s gonna kick his ass” which… no. Not good enough.
I really hope there will be more DLC episodes eventually because I don’t want this to be all the Time Stranger we ever get :(

I miss when they’d give each character an individual suite of evolution songs instead of all of them having to share :( You can get more hype out of a new form debut and aurafarm harder if you also get an individualized song for it, you don’t have to sentence everyone to the One Vision mines…

Havn’t touched Blender in a while so i figured that i’m gonna spend at least 2 hours in it everyday. Here is todays result.
Trying to rationalize that we might know the grade of importance Team 7 will have for the rest of the series after episode 24 because we’ll be getting not only new posters and info of the new arc but also new ending (who knows. Maybe even a new opening? Or new scenes)

Haven’t touched watercolors in a while, so I quickly drew and inked this for practice.
The idea of Iori becoming conventionally hot is very amusing to me for two reasons.
The first, would be the other 02 kids realizing that Iori is not longer this small skinny kid that’s mostly ignored by others because he’s odd(affectionate). Iori does kendo, and because of it, he actually gets muscles. Not enough to be buff but enough to be noticeable with how he also grows taller. Suddenly the little boy all of them knew is hot and people are asking him out and the 02 kids can’t really accept the little boy they once knew is now kinda popular.
The second, is that Iori doesn’t actually change.
Like sure, he looks different and goes from being an odd(affectionate) little boy to kinda popular, but he’s still the same person. He still speaks pretty blunt and has a monotone voice with a blank facial expression. He’s still kinda shy around new people and doesn’t fully grasp social cues(autistic iori my beloved) so he doesn’t even fully realize he’s popular or hot and doesn’t realize the reason everyone is complementing him isn’t because their kind but because they want to fuck him.
Iori doesn’t even care when he realizes, he has more important things to do than fuck around and could honestly care less about being popular or hot

“A bunch of people on tumblr celebrating the death of Julius Ceaser”

Ophanimon and Cherubimon have X-antibody forms for both of their forms

Admittedly, I don’t like Cherubimon’s that much, but he has them
They really should round out the group
So excited for even more Royal Knight shit
(said with sarcasm as I glare at EX 13 Chivalrous 13’s announcement)
[[MORE]]As an Appmon player this is frustrating since it means we are now unlikely to see an EX set for the anniversary, and I don’t know if Bandai gives a shit enough to give us a 10th anni set for Appmon when Tamers is also celebrating its 25th.
The reason I don’t think EX 14 can be the Appmon Anni set is because of something digi-lov pointed out about how EX sets tend to alternate between V Pets and themed boosters. Shambala is a V Pet set, thus, EX 13 is a themed set, and EX 14 will be a V Pet set.
We know what BT 26 is (Timeless Bonds), which leaves BT 27 and BT 28 for the year’s release, as well as 3 undefined starter decks.
I kind of doubt we’ll see more appmon in the decks unless we get more Lv 4s like the Sakuya Dogatch. Thus, that leaves us to have to hope BT 27 or 28 are an anniversary set (which I really think is unlikely).

Hotaruko’s heel-face turn was a little abrupt. I didn’t hate it or anything. But she went from trying to kill Granit (although she couldn’t bring herself to) even though she spared Raito’s life last episode to slapping Naito and forming a true team with Granit in one episode.
Like I understand that Naito was keeping a closer eye on her when trying to kill Granit, but Granit is far more innocent than Raito was.
Something weird to me was how Naito never threatened her families safety. That never seemed to be on the table.
Naito is the kind of person to threaten her family to keep them her line, which could be why Hotaruko couldn’t just leave even if she doesn’t agree with them because then they’d be targeted. However, the break down of Tactics authority means it did become safe for Hotaruko to without consequence (because Naito is not in a position to be using resources on harming her family). It’s such an obvious thing, but considering how they don’t go for it, that kind of says something.
But what I see is more the weight Hotaruko puts on the threat of losing money. Threatening Hotaruko’s life as a means of financially threatening her family rather than directly wasting his time with her family. So Hotaruko is not allowed to leave Tactics because then they’d kill her and no one could look after her family. But when Naito demands that she use her life as a shield, telling her to sacrifice herself, he loses the one bargaining chip he actually was using over her, her own life. If Hotaruko can’t keep her life working for him, there’s no sense in continuing to do so.
It’s probably a mix of both.
Tomoro, Granit and Reina just leaving for plot convenient reasons, and coming back for plot convenient reasons was a bit egregious. Like they can’t fight because they’re sleeping and then wake up to fight because its convenient? They really left the team baby behind to be the distraction? That at least is rational enough. Tomoro is apparently too tired to carry anyone, Wolvermon needs to be in fighting shape to protect them, Reina is the only one who can carry Granit because Makoto is too small. But they all just circle back to protect Hotaruko and Makoto. Kinda a minor nitpick.
We do get a little more insight into Hotaruko’s school situation. While never mentioned how her father died or when, she was a researcher AT a college when things went down. Which kinda explains the discrepancies. Her researcher role was an internship while in college. She got kicked out of college, presumably for the damage to hyper expensive equipment that occurred when her partner was born. She’s in Tactics to pay those debts.
Klay using the bounty to replace Wong is a little misguided to me. After all, the World Union was looking to get evidence to get a bounty placed on him regardless of Wong. Klay overthrowing Wong is probably not going to help him as much as he thinks. Sure, Wong may hold the real power, but that doesn’t mean it would transfer directly to him if he overthrew Wong.
Honoka was a lot of fun, the “Queen of Tsundere” was really on her game with this performance. Leaving because of boredom and the power of friendshp being cringe to her. Her being so new that Kyo doesn’t know her is interesting. Or did Wong just not find a Star of Water until after he already had to find a replacement for Kyo. Considering how long Kyo was the Metal Star, I kind of doubt that. Was Maki maybe the previous 5 star? We know she was a former cleaner, but we don’t know anything about her otherwise, but she and Klay knew each other.
Shakomon talking about how they can endure any dark ocean, but she’s better swimming freely… Tylomon is a digimon that swims freely. Shakomon is the kind of digimon that endures at the ocean floor. Hotaruko is someone who puts a lot of pressure on herself, pushes herself into corners. Doesn’t share her pain, much like Shakomon doesn’t speak up often. But she’s much better off doing as she’d like, free. Not under pressure to provide for her family.
Hotaruko has probably accepted that she won’t be able to send money back to her family for a little while now. She’s freed herself from that obligation, and is going down a new, freer path towards her goals.
I think its a little contrived that Tactics is going off on their own to find Raito rather than something that makes complete sense. Both seem closer to the Glowing Dawn than they do to each other, but it makes sense that Granit and Hotaruko would take a chance on each other because they’ve never been at each others throats. But at least help take down Klay to get your own names cleared. But whatever, maybe they’ll show up in the next 2 episodes.
Notably Makoto uses “Nakama” when referring to Tactics 7 in the scene where he’s telling Hotaruko she’s not alone. So… more like teammates than friends. Friends isn’t a wrong translation per se, but I don’t think Makoto was under the impression that Tactics were genuinely close friends.
Hotaruko should have punched Naito imo. That slap was not enough. You know if it was Raito doing that he would of punched him. But alas. Sexism. But her calling him out on his bullshit and basically stripping him away of all his authority by being the one to physically and verbally degrade him was so good. Granit doesn’t have that initiative that Hotaruko does. She’s basically stepping into TT7 new leader role. That may be Raito’s, but she suits it much better.
Kyo calling out what was inevitable from day one, Naito being left on his own the moment things started getting bad. Because Naito’s authority came from threats, which came from his power, much of which came from his exploitation of others… which came from threats and so on. The minute one of those links began to crack the whole system collapsed.
We still haven’t seen Terriermon that appears in the ED. Possibly just a cameo, but still weird.
And… will those recaptured people from the human trafficking episode be rescued.

FUCKING ME, FR
THIS IS MY EXACT EXPRESSION RIGHT NOW
HOLY SHIT I AM SO FUCKING OVER THIS
How many times is this show going to do the EXACT SAME “you don’t have to carry your burdens alone you have friends who care about you =3 ” moral? They ALREADY DID this EXACT SAME FUCKING SCENE with Tomoro like twenty episodes ago. There is nothing entertaining about seeing a different character go through THE EXACT SAME ARC that we have ALREADY FUCKING SEEN WITH NO DIFFERENCES WHATSOEVER.
I don’t dislike Hotaruko or Granite or Lite, I think they’re good well written and interesting characters and the core of their story is well conceived and I’m happy to see them in the show more after this. But the way this story arc has been paced is FUCKING AGONIZING.

If nothing else, at least the episode has the decency to have this FUCKING LEGEND saying the exact same thing that I was also saying out loud to my TV screen. This shit is fucking cringe and boring, please get it over with. I appreciate the self awareness, that makes me slightly less irate.

holy shit dude, I don’t fucking care.
The episode where we got to meet her family already fucking established all of this. There is no point to this flashback. We already know what her backstory and motivations are.
I’m gonna start skipping through this fucking episode dude lol. I cannot wait for this to be over, this entire Tactics arc has been do fucking bad.
Taikiiiiiii ❤️

I miss him :( Bandai bring him back
Alt ver. (My brain can’t pick which ones prettier)
