ALTI’m slowly plugging away at these cutscenes for Blackmask. Lots of things in my have been calling for my attention such as like taking care of my family and all that.
I haven’t actually, which is silly considering I’m making this a discord compatible project lol. I’ll definitely be giving it a shot sometime in the near future though! My whole goal for this project is to make a safe, community-based app, and a discord server would be great for that. Thank you for the question!

Hey! This post will be a ‘meet the alter’ style post but for specifically the dev team for Cocoon. There will also be a new thing I’m starting called a Saturday Check In, which will be explained later in the post. While most of our alters are partaking in the development of the app, there are a core handful that are crucial in the development.
I’ll go first! My name is Spencer and I’m the host :3 I’m a formless shadow and am mostly front locked. I will be here as the 'supervisor’ or 'head dev’ for the most part.
Then there’s Simon, our Iron Lung fictive. We watched the movie and then within 24 hours we had a horrible headache and a new friend. He’s great though! He’s mostly here for his input.
There’s Rick, who is a Rick Sanchez and Johnny Silverhand fictive. Our resident anti-capitalist is actually the one who coined the name 'Cocoon’ and tends to be our idea man and work horse. He’ll likely be doing the bulk of the coding and difficult work.
We have Jason, our Redhood fictive. He says he’s here for motivation and emotional support but with him and Jaxx helping, I sense shenanigans.
Jaxx is our resident jokester and Teto fan. He’s looking mostly at accessibility features like text to speech.
There might be more, but for now these are the core five.
Another thing I wanted to start was a Saturday check-in. This will be where I explain what I’ve done this past week (Mon-Sat) and my plan for the upcoming week. My Monday posts will be more about the app or my system.
This past week, I’ve been working almost entirely on wireframes and checking out kotlin and its common frameworks. I’ll attach a sneak peak of the dashboard wireframe to this post for vibes. I’m also looking into making the source code open source on github or something whenever I get to coding. If y'all have any opinions or tips, let me know!
With love,
Spencer
At last it has arrived!! The reveal of our main character/love interest for the player. Please note that this is version 1 and he will be changed BEFORE the demo is released.
Also, I could NOT get myself to draw a proper full body version of our man, so we’re stuck without legs. Don’t worry he does have them somewhere!
Anyways, introducing:
The kid from the city who always seems to be around your town. Despite keeping to himself, he has such a wide personality it’s hard to believe he’s 1 person!
Top left is his normal adult look, bottom left is his chils look and how he looks when you first meet him, and the left is him with his hair down.

-> He plays the drums and eventually joins a band
-> He is Ace and Pan
-> He has social anxiety, but improves over the years
-> His hair is naturally purple and curly!
Please don’t use my art for AI. I am aware that is isn’t the best, and will be changed later on
Dev Log #3 – When two invisible rectangles decide my garden is closed.
Two of them were ruining my life.
Dev log #3! This week was something 🙆🏻♀️
Good timezone! February has been a busy month, but I still got some dev things done (I’m just as surprised as you are).
Speaking of the Amare Game Jam, the VN will be released on our lead Mei'ri Games’ itch.io, so please stay tuned :)
That’s it from me this month! Thank you for reading, and have a good timezone :)
Already 2 months through 2026?
I want to be mad that I haven’t been more productive but sometimes just getting through the day, getting home safely, has got to be enough.
Steadily reclaiming my time and energy to be creative, bit by bit; there’s been such chaos which is not worth my energy to attempt to calm. Being mindful of the erosion caused by proximity is fine mitigation, nevertheless there is still a toll. Distancing myself from those points of fatigue has been a struggle, but each removed was a relief which I’m still re-acclimating to. Reduction is also progress, I suppose.
Multiple projects in the works, as is typical; known delays due to plans this month, but at least these plans are of my own accord.
Progress during February had been hindered quite a bit due to real life interference, but I still have things to share! The pictures below are my mockups of the Disturbia map I’m making in Minecraft.
This small scale one was the first thing I made. Of course I had a sketch, but it’s different having it as a 3D environment to walk around in and see from different angles.
(The coloured wool blocks you’ll see all around are there to zone off different areas.)

This was for me to generally figure out the geography and topology of the area before committing to a much larger scale.
The area is mostly woods in varying thicknesses, a hill, and a large lake with small rivers extending from it.

This is the progress so far on the full scale version. I don’t think I’ll be recreating the interiors because I have them elsewhere in the same world.

Speaking of, here is the layout of Jessie Sawyer’s house. You’ll probably notice it doesn’t look like any of the Texas Chainsaw houses, and that’s on purpose.

Here is the library with reading room, computer room, and archives. This is where you can go to learn how to play the game or learn about your neighbours.

And this is the famous Myers House! Which is now decorated for Halloween year-round. You’d think a two story house would be too big for just one guy, but Michael has certainly made use of all the space.
To combat against the current art block preventing me from releasing version 1 of our love interest for GOA, I decided to do work on the audio for the first CG! I won’t publish it (yet) and it most likely won’t stay for when the demo is publicly released, but otherwise, development is coming along smoothly!
Once I finish with the love interest’s character page, I’ll release more details about Goodbye Once Again. I’ll attempt to post a dev update every 1-2 weeks until I finish more of the artworks. If you have any questions about Goodbye Once Again, please leave me an ask and I’ll answer without spoiling too much of the game. ><
What is this love interest’s name you ask? Well, for now he’s decided to be one with nature. Specifically at the *highest* peak >.^
and this is a YT video I made about it.
Great, now that the self promo part is over, where can I acquire a guillotine for cheap? Asking for a friend.
I said I was going to do monthly updates, so here we go. Honestly, Jan/Feb were both dead months. I think my mental health wasn’t doing too great with uh, everything going on so I’m hoping to try to ease myself back into creative work. So general updates:
Burning Academia: I am rewriting the Student Government tutoring path. I figured out what I wanted to do with it. The path will probably top off at like 20k ish words, which is about the same amount of words I deleted when I accepted I needed to rewrite it lol. I’m about halfway there.
Spring Boy: This is one of the things I am Hoping to get back to, for real this time, in March. It’s the start of Spring, it’s the perfect time!!
Silver Tongued Youth: Prequel to Disruptive Compassion. Holds a lot of my personal feelings about some things wrapped up in it. I have done So Much Research for it, and I have more to do, but I really have been enjoying it. Some WIPs from it:

Trans Otome Jam: Welcome to me having ideas beyond my capacity. I have no idea how to run a game jam, but I certainly like to dream. Basically what it says on the tin; A jam where either the MC or one of the LIs is canonically trans and/or non binary. Gender selectable characters wouldn’t count (unless the player would be picking between a transman/woman). I also have no idea what I would run it or how long the duration would be. I would just like more trans characters in otome games lmaO. Have a questionable logo because I am not a graphic designer:

And that’s it for this monthly update! Hopefully March I’ll be back in the swing of things and will have more to report! For now, hope y'all are doing well!

Monthly Update:

~ Mod Pinky 💖
Okay, I’ve just posted the first log to my tumblr. It’s out there now! My plan moving forward is to try and do one of these a day, like I said in the first, even if I didn’t add to my projects. Even if I can’t talk about the work I did, I can talk about the work I can do!
First on the list. I said before the Back of the Box (BotB) is a “brand” of open source software. Well first I want to make a kind of suite. Kind of like KDE’s stuff. A calculator, a clock, a calendar, a mail app, that kind of stuff. Maybe it will take me somewhere, maybe not! The goal is to have little games hidden in all of these apps though. The calculator for example, I want to have an RPG hidden in it. But since I thought up the story for said RPG, I think I want the app version to be more dumbed down or like a trial version. Now I really want to make that story into a full game. I won’t spoil it here since that’s supposed to be part of the experience.
After the calculator, I want to work on a clock app. Something that can sit in your taskbar (sorry, the plan is for this to be linux desktop software, but I plan on having windows ports too for those who want to try it). It will have a clock, obviously, but also a timer, an alarm, and a stopwatch built in too. I want the stopwatch to kind of incorporate livesplit, the speedrunning software. I’ll have to look into use privileges for that when the time comes. The hidden game in this app will be a rhythm game. Maybe a simple 4k game, like osu mania. Maybe something new!
From there, I’m not too sure what I want to put where. But I do have ideas for the kinds of games I want included. Games such as:
- ???: Tamagotchi/Virtual Pet
- ???: Dating Sim (eMail Client?)
- ???: Wii Tank Clone
- ???: Doom Clone
- ???: GBA/NES emulator? (not a game per se, but still something cool to potentially include)
I’m writing this all before work again too, so I might be able to get back on and write more afterwards. But if last night is any indication, probably not.
Oh yeah, I forgot this is kind of my journal too. I’m kind of upset with my job to begin with. I accidentally stayed 30 minutes past my shift a couple days ago because no one told me we were done. (it was before my shift was scheduled to end anyway) Either way, I was working those 30 minutes, and it wasn’t my fault. I clocked out and went home. I come in the next day and they edited my punch to when we shut down, stealing 30 minutes from me. I’m livid about it. I need to talk to HR before going in today, in person. It’s not a lot of time, but it’s my time.
Started the day around 11am. I didn’t feel very productive today. I spent most of it messing around with productivity software and formatting and styling. No actual work. But, in the final moments, as I’m writing this,I got a burst of “productivity” that finally let me begin. Even if only a little, I’ve actually written something down. Now I have to go to work for roughly 4 hours. I expect to get out around 9:30pm, but we’ll see. I plan on cloning this to my tumblr, so if you see this there, hi! I’m working on a project called Back of the Box. I plan on it being my own “brand” of software. The inspiration was a story I either made up or heard some time back about how many old persons’ “secret recipe” was really just a recipe they saw on the back of say a can of condensed milk, or corn bread. The ‘secret’ was never really that, just something that was always available to whoever went looking for it. I’m not sure how that philosophy will bleed into my work yet, but I like the name.
This dev log isn’t just for that project either. It’s kind of my journal going forward. Dev as in development, of course. Development of what? Me, this project, another project, my life, my job, whatever. It’s all development, as it’s all learning and growing. Even if I didn’t learn something actionable or gain something tangible. That’s all at the moment, I’ll likely return to this note when I get home, or not. We’ll see.
