heyy, gremlins!!! since i’ve been pretty active and immersed in the tumblr fandom space for a while now, and know quite a few people follow me from said fandoms (primarily byler and p!atd), i would like to present the tumblr freaks (affectionate) with a cult fandom that i personally think deserves more members.
my friend Trent, a really talented upcoming writer, has been posting his Lynch inspired short stories on instagram for about a year now. He also now has a wattpad account (i know how we feel about wattpad on here but i can promise that his writing is far above wattpad standards), where he has published his first completed project, Cathy’s Silly Little Life which is described as “a lesbian romance with no lesbians and no romance”, to which he is currently working on the sequel, Cathy Finds a Dead Guy, “a story of murder, mystery, love, hate, femcels, evangelicals and one really bad moustache”.
His main passion project, however, is Dear, “an erotic horror romance with elements of absurdist comedy” told through a non-linear series of diary entries from the perspective of Scarlet, a celestial entity in the form of a hot nineteen year old girl, as she captures a mortal boy whose energy she feeds off of so she may have enough strength to open the gates that hold the fabric of reality, and the power to resurrect her mother. This insane project can be found on his writing Instagram account (@trent_writes_stuff). So far, the cult fandom dedicated to Scarlet consists of about three people, but knowing the demographic of tumblr, the amount of fanart-worthy material in these stories will certainly not go to waste and Scarlet should gain the mortal devotion she deserves.
