i dont know loads of green lantern lore but im pretty sure that being a green lantern means you’re gonna be friends, or at the very least coworkers, with aliens as part of the whole “ space cop” deal, so hal jordan making a racist joke about said aliens was a bit surprising and off-putting like ?? we just had a movie where bigotry and racism against superman, an alien, was the major plot point??

The way James Gunn was out here insisting on Tom King being a vital part of the new DCEU, only for Lanterns, something Tom King is involved with, to drop its trailer and show that this will be a bad move for the new DCEU because that man fucks up anything he’s given.

A post I was planning on doing was saying that it feels weird that I outlived every cinematic superhero universe. MCU, DCEU, Fox X Men, Sonyverse. And with the exception of the Fox X Men I was born before all of them started. I was waiting until Secret Wars which will reboot the MCU to come out to make this post.
Then the Sonyverse was announced to be rebooted so it looks like I’ll be awhile till I can make that post.
Oh well at the very least we might get the El Muerto movie starring Bad Bunny and based on a character who appeared in only 2 issues.

My redesign and rewrite of the DCEU Birds of Prey movie info.
Instead of the title of Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn), the title is Birds & Sirens and is considered an origin story movie for the DCEU’s Birds of Prey team, Gotham City Sirens team, and Cassandra Cain.
The plot is as described here. David Cain has been training his daughter Cassandra to one day be a living weapon and powerful killer, teaching her to only read body language. He sends her out to Gotham so she can get her first kill. Cassandra reads the body language of the person who she kills and feels horrible about committing an act of murder, feeling the experience of the person dying. She decides to run away from her father and live in Gotham, pretending to be a homeless street kid, insisting to everyone that her parents are dead and that she is an orphan. David Cain makes a deal with Roman Sionis aka Black Mask that if he can give him Cassandra, he can give him the Bertinelli diamond, resulting in Roman sending an army of assassins and mercenaries after Cassandra.
Selina Kyle aka Catwoman has returned to Gotham after having visited family outside the country, and now ends up in trouble after stealing the Bertinelli diamond. Harley Quinn had impulsively announced her breakup to the Joker to all of Gotham and that resulted in her enemies going after her, while her best friend Poison Ivy works to protect Harley.
Dinah Lance aka Black Canary ends up getting close to Cassandra and partners with detective Renee Montoya to protect her from Black Mask, Victor Zsasz, and the False Face Society. Helena Bertinelli aka Huntress is on her quest for revenge and when she finds herself atop the Booby Trap at Amusement Mile, she succeeds in her final kill of Victor Zsasz, but finds herself with Dinah, Renee, Cassandra, Harley, Ivy, and Selina looking out a window at the gigantic army of assassins led by Black Mask. The group works together to defeat the False Face Society and at the end, Helena finishes off Sionis for her true final kill in her revenge mission by lighting him on fire. While it’s believed that Sionis had died, it’s revealed that Sionis had his black skull mask burnt into his skin and permanently attached to his face. Helena, Dinah, and Renee become a vigilante team called the Birds of Prey with Cassandra being a reserve member to join when she gets older. Harley, Ivy, and Selena become a group of mercenaries called the Gotham City Sirens. Dinah adopts Cassandra, and even nicknames her “Cass” and “Sin”.
At the end of the Batgirl solo movie, Barbara Gordon aka Batgirl joins the Birds of Prey.

Marvel & DC’s rivalry has recently translated into movies, with the MCU becoming the most successful film franchise in history whey the DCEU recently made headway with, like the comics, hiring away some of Marvel’s top talent in the form of James Gunn.
