Short summary/description: After all the Upside Down stuff is wrapped up in Hawkins, Steve, Robin, Nancy, Jonathan and Argyle move into an apartment together to start their adult lives. Eddie decides to go onto an extended road trip all over the country. He keeps in contact, mostly, until he doesn’t and everyone starts getting worried. But then he shows up unannounced to crash on their couch.
That helps Steve realise some things about himself, his roommates and Eddie.

Eddie hadn’t been back since he left, but he did send postcards from time to time, when he found a funny one, or went to a particularly weird place, like the time he sent them a postcard from Slaughter Beach. Sometimes Eddie even called them. Not often, and the calls were always short, but they always crowded around the phone and shouted things at him. That usually meant they didn’t get much more information than where Eddie was currently while he got treated to whatever little squabble was going on in their home currently. Steve was always looking forward to the next postcard or the next call, and he hated when he missed one of them. Once, Eddie had called while Steve was home alone and they had been able to have an actual conversation. Well, at least until Eddie’s change had run out.

At the word inhibitor, Esri made a gesture with his wrist. There was an ornate cuff locked onto his wrist. Underneath it was a dragonmark that crawled up his wrist and underneath his sleeve.
An aberrant dragonmark. Eliwyse didn’t have too much of a problem with aberrants. Sure, they were dangerous, but it wasn’t like most of them were trying to hurt people. And the ones who made the news for hurting people on purpose were being declared terrorists by the Houses. So if Esri was one of those aberrants, then he was the enemy of her enemy.
Though he was also the enemy of her potential ally. This was a confusing line of thought.
