Been busy crossing off projects from my leatherworking to-do list, more than pictured here but some things are already packed away for a weekend trip or have wandered off elsewhere. I need to get better about taking photos of what I make, I keep realizing there’s things from years ago I still don’t have any photos of…
Anyway, been wanting to make a leather ascot for a while, I’ve never been able to find one so I knew I was going to have to tackle the undertaking myself eventually. Wound up making two, but I don’t have a nicer photo of the olive nubuck one, it’s packed at the moment. This one is Italian sheepskin, reversible between olive and brown.
Chain leash is Horween, Italian sheepskin lined, and copper hardware. The hook makes it handy to keep on your pocket. Feels good in the hand.
Cloak/blanket clasp is Horween and suede, brass hardware. Kinda reminiscent of ⚧️ which was not intentional but I’ll take it.
Collar is faux ostrich from Newbury Leathers (which I’m pretty pleased with, and I’m very picky) lined with nubuck, brass hardware. I meant for this to be a more slimline collar to wear under ties and ascots to help cut down the bulk, but it’s wound up just about the same size as my regular one. Still pretty, but not my goal unfortunately.
