-Why didn’t Guard help Ginger and her babies run away?

That wouldn’t have helped Suncat since she would have died is the god stayed inside her/if she lived long enough to the next litter to be born she would have died then. And Guard only cares for Suncat

-Is Ginger dead?

Yes

-Why didn’t Guard kill the new suncat?

Because in the end he doesn’t care if She lives of dies, he only cares for Suncat living. Nothing else matters and this was a better way to get Suncat away

-Couldn’t Guard have taken Suncat away from Her lands?

He could have but wouldnt have helped. She is inside of Suncat and would have come with

Here’s the first ever page I’ve drawn for Time of Decay when Cass was still supposed to be the main character 👀

It was supposed to be a prologue of sorts, I was still experimenting with the style of the whole thing, but ultimately dropped the idea after some time, though it did help me figure out what I wanted to do with the story.

After this one I did a few more “first pages”, but they’ve never really left the sketch stage and it still took quite some time before I settled on one idea and started working on the comic properly.

This is Lead Guard of my colony!

In this au, basically all members of the colony are guards in training! They patrol and feed the pit where the “old god” rests and quietly waits. The purpose of the colony is not to serve this god, but to make sure it remains undisturbed for generations!

Lead Guard is a particularly tragic figure, having sacrificed his lover in service of keeping this god contained. He is entirely focused (and lowkey obsessed) with protecting the local colonies from this sleeping threat, often commanding the other guards to take extensive patrols and excursions to make sure others stay well away.

However! Due to the fact this colony is always working, they cannot attend gatherings or meet with other colonies for diplomatic purposes. Thus making their colony a mysterious, threatening, and powerful dark epicenter that is rumored to have killed “the beast.”

-Jumalanpelko (eng. the fear of god) (orign. finnish) is a cat comic that depicts a colony of cats that worship a god. This god needs a body, and naturally, every suneve a colony member is chosen at a young age to be the vessel for that god.

They are henceforth called “Suncat.”

To be a suncat is a great sacrifice to allow the god to interact with Her colony, because it means an early death for the suncat themselves. It’s hard being the house for a god!

- Jumalanrakkaus (eng. the love of god) (orign. finnish) is a series I’m working on in taking inspiration from Jumalanpelko, which explores what happens when the colony is pushed to it’s upmost limit. In the spirit of Jumalanpelko, this story is a tragedy. But it diverges from the main story quite a bit. Please read the original story on Comicfury and support the artist on Patreon! You know I am!
