Before sleep I gotta say for as mad as I was at Motobe when I first went thru the musashi saga now that I’m doing a re-read, i really get him. And it’s pretty funny on its own right too because when i read it for the first time I sided with everyone bc i too was fight hype pilled where i dgaf about anything bc i was so hyped for the next big cool fight but now that im more Sober and also Older and Wiser its like no i totally get where he’s coming from because these people seriously dont seem to grasp this isnt a normal opponent like all the others before he literally just wants to kill people and Motobe realized but everyone else just is so blinded by the need of a cool fight they cant realize. And when they start to its way too late. To want to stop him in order to preserve the greatests masters of their respective arts is completely logical and not just logical but NECESSARY. They’re like children in a playground except its not a playground is an active construction site and they’re going to literally die badly.

what i like so much too is that you can really see the seeds of everything being planted. A thing about Baki is that it really is well written despite its insanity. But like seeing how from the start you can tell how giddy Musashi gets at the recognition which would later devolve into his full villain arc is so fun. At first easy to ignore and kinda cute and then he’s just a fucking nuclear explosion just like Baki said whne he first saw him. He knew.
