dichotomy (am I using that word right maybe not) between female characters written badly because of misogyny (male writers guilty) and decent female characters being dismissed because of misogyny

I’m dabbling with miniatures (planning) and I am so annoyed with inches/feet conversions I’m just doing it all in metric

I don’t find feet/inches hard it’s just kind of unwieldy compared to just scooting a decimal place around

Edit: if you’re curious how feet come into this, I’m translating stuff to scales to see like how big this (random) house blueprint would be on various scales, and so on in that vein. (1/6 scale stuff can be like a foot and some length depending upon how big the original thing is)

Well they would have fires and it woke me up lol

I think I just don’t enjoy exterior decorating. My Stardew Farms are mostly functional on the exteriors and when I played the sims I would put in a few plants and a tree and call it a day

one thing I think about with character design for shokei shoujo is the places the author chose to expose on the characters skin.

In Japanese culture low cut tops showing cleavage are considered more racy than a high leg or a showing stomach. In many isekais women are breasting boobily with exposed cleavage and this further backs the argument that they are there to be sex objects.

In shokei shoujo, the character showing the most skin has her breasts fully covered, they are important to the story and strong. They are not a prop or sex object while still being in a relatively revealing “sexy” outfit. It shows off her muscular torso and arms and in the opening theme the shot of her character begins at her tummy and follows her “shirt” design upward, which contrast the “male gaze” centered angles of chest first. frequency seen in other isekais.

This isnt to say that “showing cleavage is bad” but it is to say that these characters were designed within the realm of what would be “acceptable” in the culture of origin and wouldn’t “disrespect” the women.

It’s not something I ever see talked about in anime discussion because from a western mindset, we dont see showing cleavage as “more racy” than a high leg or showing tummy, its something women commonly do here out of their own personal fashion sense.

In the eyes of an american anime fan, cleavage may add to the sexualization of a character where as in Japan a character is almost defined by it. A character showing cleavage is designed to be sexualized.

My hairdresser did my hair so quickly and I mentioned and she said she understands how to do my hair now. Its not difficult it just needs to be done in small enough sections. She also did my sisters hair twice in-between my last visit and my sisters hair is nothing like mine
