Interview with my Tavs/Durge: would they get along?
I wanted to take a quick photo of all my Tavs/Durge next to each other for my tumblr and somehow that escalated a bit into my girls having a party on the Elfsong rooftop and me wondering if they would get along with each other. Enjoy!
So I think it’s easy to assume Kieran and Alaia would be immediate friends, always at the center of attention. Alethea and Razan would be a bit more quiet and say no to any kind of imbibing, but still talk to everyone. Then there’s Maeve who’s just silently staring daggers, I think she would like Calliope, as they both got that slightly scary vibe. They totally would join in for drinking and smoking though.
Maeve would like you to know she was an unwilling participant in this entire event and bitch about it to Minthara and Astarion. Kieran will end the day with an orgy, with Shadowheart and Halsin present, of course. Calliope goes home to Waterdeep and spends the rest of the day sitting on the balcony with Gale. Alaia, Alethea and Razan pick up Wyll, Lae'zel and Karlach respectively to celebrate further at the Blushing Mermaid. Alethea and Karlach start a bar fight, Lae'zel and Razan finish said bar fight, Alaia and Wyll successfully convince the owner not to throw them out. They all have an absolute blast.

Tav’s tent in camp
I’ve been thinking about my Tav/Durge’s tents all day. I still think it’s a crime btw that Larian didn’t give Tav their own tent. I get that a tent for every class would’ve been a little too much to ask for, maybe. But come on, one generic tent with a single item, depending on class? When they introduced photo mode. Bard gets a lute, wizard a big magical book, cleric lots of incense, druid many herbs etc. So yeah, absolutely criminal, jail for Larian for 10 hours.
On a sidenote, my headcanon is the entire camp gets moved around locations with a big summoning circle, conveniently created by Withers, god of comfortable camping and executed by Gale, hater of carrying things. That’s why companion’s tents always look the same.
Anyway, this is what I imagine my gal’s tents would look like. Excuse the sketch quality, this was my first time drawing digitally and I had to use my tiny laptop touchpad and fingers. Who knew geometric shapes were so difficult.
Kieran: way too luxurious to be camping out in the wilds, but that’s my girl for you. Pillows everywhere. Always smells like almond cookies somehow. Also has an absolute mess of scrolls, random trinkets and clothing.
Alethea: practical, no nonsense, good camouflage when in a forest. Smells like sandalwood soap. Mielikki approves. Also has a little shrine, very tidily folded clothes and well cleaned weapons.
Razan: humble but comfortable. Smells like an incense & herb market stand. Classic Underdark hammock for comfy sleeping. Also has a hidden stash of stolen coin.
Alaia: what you would expect from a cheerful bard, either makes you smile or get a headache from looking at it. Smells like floral perfume, walnut oil (for instrument care) and wine stains. Also has lots of patterned blankets, scavanged pottery collection and several spare instruments.
Calliope: doesn’t give a fuck, chose a dark red tent so you can’t see the occasional blood stains. It’s good quality material though. Also has stolen jewellery, artwork, fancy clothes and lots of daggers.
Maeve: straight from the Calimshan market to whatever sorry patch of dirt they’re camping on. Smells like spiced coffee and cardamom. Also has a big stack of expensive silks, gems, a wide array of poisons, opiates and puzzles.

Interview with my Tavs/Durge: Did they let Astarion feed on their blood? And did their partners?
Kieran: absolutely, every night! She doesn’t mind the pain and sees it as a casual platonic gesture - or occasional kinky play, when they’re both in the mood for that. Shadowheart & Halsin feel exactly the same.
Alethea: yes, she filled her blood into a bottle for him to drink from every day. Lae'zel was strongly opposed and mildly disgusted for most of their journey, but eventually got used to it. She’d never offer her own though, since she believes bloodletting must be earned in combat.
Razan: yes, she let him drink from her wrist every evening. Karlach cannot offer her blood due to infernal engine, but would if she could. Out of kindness and sympathy for both Astarion and Razan’s wrists.
Alaia: she let him bite her the night they all found out he’s a vampire, because she simply couldn’t bear the thought of him going hungry, otherwise she insisted he feeds on bad guys only. Her and Wyll both allowed feeding from them in emergency situations though.
Calliope: yes every night, she actually enjoys the pain and intimacy, whether as part of sex or in the time they were strictly platonic. Gale starts offering his blood in act 3 (canon), but Astarion doesn’t take him up his offer until post game, when it no longer tastes like Netherese Bile.
Maeve: yes Astarion can drink from her whenever he asks, but she highly encouraged him to bite & kill whomever he pleases. Minthara was jealous and mad about it at first, but eventually warms up to him and occasionally lets him bite her, for curiosity’s sake the first time and out of situational need any time after.

Song Review: Robin Trower - “Alethea” (2025 Stereo Mix)
Robin Trower seems determined to make irrelevant the original mix of For Earth Below.
The 2025 stereo mix of “Alethea” confirms the previously released similar treatment of “Shame the Devil” was no fluke and the forthcoming (June 27) 50th-anniversary edition of the 1975 album has the potential to be an Earth-shattering kaboom of sorts.
The song explodes from the speakers; Trower’s power trio making an aerial assault while every crack and crevice in James Dewar’s Paul Rodgersian voice sounds big enough to hold water.
Incredible. A reasonable listener couldn’t ask for more from a fresh mix.
In addition to the new mix, For Earth 50 includes a remaster, live and studio musical outtakes; interviews; and a complete, previously unreleased gig recorded in ’75.

Backstory: Her father Gerrick is a Noble human in Baldur’s Gate who had a single hookup with Ember, a Wood Elf. She unexpectedly (former fertility issues) got pregnant and pretty much dropped Alethea on his doorstep as a newborn, saying she’d be a horrible parent, but vowing to be supportive from the distance. He is a stern, but loving father, who taught Alethea everything he knows. Feeling lost about what to do with her life, she traveled to Ember in the forest, who proposed the idea of Alethea becoming a paladin of Mielikki. The scar on Alethea’s face is from her very first mission, which went sideways, instilling in her the strong desire to never fail anyone again.
She is level-headed and calm, but her suppressed temper sometimes brings on violent outbursts, while still following her principles though. A little bit sarcastic, with dry humour. Has a saviour complex. At the beginning of the main plot Alethea is 28.

Alethea and Lae’zel spend their time destroying Vlaakith’s last strongholds all over the Sword Coast. They often visit Halsin in Reithwin, who is raising the hatched githyanki child Xan Adlishar [freedom; first of many]. One day, Lae’zel’s long-lost Rogue cousin Qelu breaks into their bedroom in the middle of the night. She only faked her death years ago to be free of Vlaakith’s clutches and was overjoyed once she heard Lae’zel came to her senses too. Lae’zel begrudgingly lets her stay, but is secretly delighted to have Qelu back in her life.
After her transformation, Astarion stayed with Karlach to help her learn to control the hunger for brains. As the months pass by and she collects more people’s memories, she seems less and less like herself and eventually wants to go by a new name, Caer. One night when Astarion wakes up, Caer is gone and all they left behind is a gentle letter that they need to build a new life somewhere else, without someone who clings onto the memory of Karlach Cliffgate. Heartbroken, Astarion goes to live with Shadowheart and Wyll for a while, who got married and later have two children.
