okay so even beyond the “reblog with text addition” thing im pretty sure note counts are just completely fucking broken

i cant really demonstrate it because im not about to go through and screenshot a bunch of peoples tags on my posts but if youre even a reasonably large blog just. go through your activity feed. its genuinely insane. like, peoples tags just getting eaten in the note count despite the fact that their tags are in your activity feed and also on their blog level shit

im pretty sure all posts, reblogs with text or no, are just incomprehensible labyrinths now

Literally none of the reblogs with tags or comments are visible on the blog activity, the only visible activity is the replies and even as the OP of the post I can only see the replies on the individual reblog that was replied to.

This seems to make it impossible to have a conversation with anyone on a post except the person directly replying to your reblog, so instead of being a conversation in the town square kind of feeling, it has more of a “I hope my email finds you well” or passing notes vibe.

the original post is (supposed to be) unrebloggable, while each addition underneath is rebloggable. the 2nd addition was made while the original post was still rebloggable, while the 3rd addition was made after the original post was unrebloggable

ok yeagh that’s bad. holy fuck. trying to reblog the original post directly actually gives me a message that reblogs are disabled. it’s just not greyed out anymore. but if course i can just. reblog literally any other part of the chain and just remove the parts i don’t like

seems like in a post made by a user1 and reblogged with addition by user2,

if user1 blocks user3, then user3 cannot reblog the post from either user1 or user2.

if user2 blocks user3, user3 cannot reblog the addition from user2, but can reblog the original post from user1.

if user1 blocks user2 after user2 reblogged user1 with an addition, then user3 can still reblog the addition from user2
