We rise in rhythm with the ancestors’ hum,
From Lagos to London, our stories drum.
Sisters, remember: you are the sun and the source,
Your journey is yours, walk it with force.
Lift one another, in joy or in fight,
We are the dawn, we are the night.
In every reflection, choose yourself first…
Care is a revolution, and love is our thirst.
Across oceans, across time, we bloom…
Black women, forever, let’s own every room.
So we stand, hands clasped, hearts aligned…
May we be guided by grace, by the divine.
As we uplift each other, may we also be led
In purpose, in love, and by the Spirit we’re fed.
May our steps serve a calling greater than today
Black women, in faith, we light the way.

Resting Under the Shepherd’s Care
📖 “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” —Psalm 23:1 (NKJV)
David’s declaration in Psalm 23 is both simple and profound. He does not merely acknowledge that the Lord shepherds His people in general; he speaks personally—“my shepherd.” The statement expresses trust in God’s ongoing care, provision, and leadership.
As a woman carrying responsibilities and…
Jesus Is My Good Shepherd
📖 “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” —Psalm 23:1 (NKJV)
A shepherd takes care of sheep. He makes sure they have food, water, and a safe place to rest. He watches over them and protects them from danger. The Bible says the Lord is your Shepherd. That means He takes care of you.
Just like sheep need a shepherd, you need Jesus. He guides you when you feel…
Following the Good Shepherd
📖 “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” —Psalm 23:1 (NKJV)
Psalm 23 presents a deeply personal declaration. David does not say merely that the Lord is a shepherd, but that He is my shepherd. The image conveys guidance, protection, provision, and attentive care. Sheep depend entirely on the shepherd for direction and safety. The metaphor invites similar…

This is the cityscape of Khier-Tuom, the capital of ancient Irem in that Bronze Age fantasy story I’ve been outlining. It lies on an island at the confluence of the White and Blue Nile in central Sudan, allowing its inhabitants to prosper from trade between the kingdoms of the Nile further downriver and the savanna cultures to the south.
Although this is technically a fictional city I created for the purposes of a story, Khier-Tuom’s name comes from a Dinka term meaning “the place where rivers meet”, which may also be the source of the name of a later city to emerge in the region called Khartoum.
Joy in Our Home
📖 “These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.” —John 15:11 (NKJV)
Joy in a home is deeper than laughter or entertainment. It is rooted in Christ’s presence. Jesus promises that His joy remains in those who abide in Him. When a family stays close to Christ, joy becomes steady rather than dependent on perfect…

A Thankful Family
📖 “In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” —1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NKJV)
Gratitude changes the atmosphere of a home. When a family chooses thankfulness, even in ordinary or difficult days, it shifts attention from frustration to faithfulness. Scripture calls you to give thanks in everything, which means gratitude becomes part of your…
