I’m not the biggest fan of the new Zack VA, but I absolutely have to give him credit for how fucking sweet and gentle he sounds whenever he’s talking to Cloud.

His ‘shouldn’t you say something?’ And 'you wanna talk about it?’ and 'you wanna come with me?’ Lines are full of so much sweet concern and he sounds so boyish, but still genuinely invested. It’s really lovely.

As much as I know that cloud was projecting his perception of everything onto the stories he heard from zack and that they do not actually share any memories at all (and that this is my usual/main interpretation of cloud being fucked up and out of it), I cant help but play around with the whole ‘the mako messed with something and caused them to share memories or connect mentally’ or something

Like them getting knocked out post experimentation and someone asking if they know where they are, their name, etc and both of them having a split second where they respond with the other’s name before it starts to come back to them. I think it might be a bit more of an issue with zack post experimentation too if the only thing on his mind is being cloud’s caretaker
