Went to go finish/edit an F1 Xmas fic only to find out that Google DELETED the last 6 chapters which was about 100k words. I’m so fucking annoyed. This fic took forever to wrangle and it was for a rare pair too.
Now I have to go write angst instead of fluff.

Ah the story you are thinking of is “Hate” and “The Thing” and you have a very vivid memory kudos.
Alas these two pieces no longer meet my personal writing quality standards- “Hate” was especially problematic looking back at it and at times I do make the decision to purge. It’s an anxiety thing with me admittedly - I don’t like clutter of any sort, digital footprint included. It doesn’t make sense I know but again, it’s just a personal quirk of my anxiety. Clutter in my eyes equals mess. Mess equals… Not nice memories. Clutter must therefore go.
I too have felt the sting of pieces going down and leaving the internet but I also get why authors do so. “Hate” especially was… Well to be frank. Awkward. On rereads I genuinely began to personally dislike the whole saga: *especially* the Reds initial whirlwind relationship. I just…didn’t like it anymore and so it didn’t make the cut.
Its sad to say goodbye to an old piece but I just see it as making room for other newer pieces. Like “Webs” and a few other secret ones in the fandom as well as original section of my brain. XD
