Last night’s installment in the atmospheric river parade has us at 18 hours without power, an 8:00PM guesstimate to when it might be restored.
But, we had gas and water, good for thick coffee, jammy eggs and steel cut oats before Ava was off to school!
So it’ll be a day playing with all those things stashed in the freezer: chicken bones(stock), extra dough(galette), egg whites(meringue cookies), salmon(rillette), etc.
With all that people are enduring around the country, the globe, we have it pretty damn good.

Reposted from @jpdpro_photography Did you enjoy the storms last night in south east Queensland? It was a bitter sweet start to the season for myself and many communities across the Darling Downs and Northern NSW. Unfortunately most of the storms were very dry leaving many farmers with little to no rain while most of the downpour occurred close to the coastline. As for myself I made the rookie error of leaving my umbrella at home and having no choice but to use the older Nikon and not risk the new Sony 😏. Nevertheless with the strike finder 2 mounted on top the D7100 was going strong and allowed me to capture this bolt as the storms raced out to sea. Overall it was really beautiful to see storms return and it gives us hope for the coming months.
