My childhood was similar to Steve Rogers’ in that I had bad allergies and was sick all the time

Things are bad, I am very aware… I hope the person who lost their hair in the street can hold on.

❌ Individual ownership of land and property has deep ties to Indigenous displacement and dispossession, slavery, racist housing covenants, predatory lending, and strategic devaluation of Black and immigrant neighborhoods using redlining.
✅ But collective ownership can turn tragedy into autonomy!

hello, neurodivergents of tumblr! this is a blog for asd (otherwise known as autistic) people to submit their experiences as posts. this was inspired by blogs like @/writercultureis and such. all the other autism culture blogs i can find seem to be inactive, so i made this in an attempt to give autistic people such as myself a community and a place to talk about our experiences :)
everyone is welcome here, provided you don’t spend your time trying to tear others down - community is about uplifting each other, and sharing love, compassion and acceptance rather than spewing exclusionist rhetoric.
this blog is safe for all manner of trans and queer people, all races, religions, disabilities and all forms of neurodivergence. that includes commonly stereotyped and discriminated against neurodivergent individuals like those with schizophrenia, bpd or npd. you are all loved here as long as you show respect to others and behave accordingly.
ableism, racism, transphobia (all forms of it!), homophobia, aphobia, saneism and all other forms of bigotry will be deleted on sight. harry potter and marauders related submissions will also be deleted on principle of not keeping the works of a flaming bigot relevant.

I read an excerpt from the manuscript I’m working on now for the Global Reading for Freedom of Expression and in Solidarity with Palestine organized by Pamenar Press. I was invited to read as part of the Egypt segment by Antony Fangary.
Watch video of the reading on YouTube.
Every post about additional discrimination gets hundreds or thousands of laugh reacts.
The comments are always full of people gleefully demanding your suffering. Arrogantly assuming they know your experience. Getting a little thrill out of calling strangers a slur.
The message repeats: People like you are different. And that’s bad. So bigotry against people like you is really just common sense. And we need more common sense in the world today. That’s what’s wrong with it - we aren’t expressing enough bigotry to keep these Wrong people completely oppressed. Allowing you to exist in society taints society itself.
Even those ostensibly on your side have caveats. Little carve-outs where you have to be understanding of other points of view. After all, you can’t expect normal people to get it. They need time. Dealing with you is difficult. Especially when you don’t let things slide. Despite the fact that you’re always letting things slide. All the time. Big things. Little things. If you stopped and argued at every instance, that’s all you’d do all day.
You can’t trust the media - it’s run by people who value money over everything, and being good and decent isn’t profitable. Upsetting the status quo is not profitable. Stereotypes? Those can bring in the dough. Normal people like to see their normality reflected back at them and reinforced. That’s what they pay for.
You can’t trust academia or medicine - there are years and years of “scientific” studies on people like you that prove you aren’t like normal people. That those studies just happen to conform to popular opinion is just a coincidence. That they reinforce the status quo is just luck. There are highly respected people in well-funded positions who have made clear their biases against people like you, and they are more trusted to study those like you than people who have shown themselves as fair minded.
You can’t trust the courts or government - I mean yeah. They are the maintainers and enforcers of the status quo. To them, you are actually a threat.
