[Hidden Path Archive Zine Update – A Look at Mod Roles + Discord Update!]
Thinking About Applying to Mod? Here’s What Mods Actually Do!
A few people have asked what modding a zine actually involves, so I thought it might be helpful to explain the different roles a bit more clearly!
And just to say this clearly: you do not need previous zine experience to apply. Enthusiasm, communication, and reliability matter much more than having a long mod resume.
Many people learn how zines work while participating in them, and this project is meant to be collaborative and supportive. If you’re excited about the games and interested in helping with the project in any of the ways described above, you’re absolutely welcome to apply!
Running a zine is very much a team effort, and different mods help in different ways depending on their strengths and interests. No one is expected to do everything alone!
Here are some of the main roles I’m looking for (more may be created depending on the needs for the zine):
Community Manager:
Helping with communication and the overall community space. This can include answering contributor questions, keeping the Discord environment welcoming and healthy, helping with announcements, and occasionally stepping in to help resolve confusion or conflicts if they arise.
Formatting / Layout Mod:
Helping assemble the final zine PDF. This includes formatting pieces, organizing page layouts, making sure everything reads smoothly, and helping the final product look cohesive and polished.
Writing / Art / Content Mod:
Helping review submissions to make sure they follow the project guidelines, checking basic formatting consistency, and assisting with general coordination during the creation period.
Graphics / Promo Mod:
Creating visual materials for the project such as promo posts, banners, graphics, countdown posts, and other fun promotional content to help spread the word about the zine.
Organization / Spreadsheet Mod:
Helping track deadlines, submissions, check-ins, and general project logistics. These are the wonderful spreadsheet wizards who make sure nothing quietly disappears into the void.
Right now, I’ve already set up the basic Discord server for the project so the foundation is there! Once the mod team is assembled, we’ll continue building it together, like adding channels I missed, refining the structure, and shaping the workflow as a team!
Since this project will involve contributors working on pieces and a lot of visual works, sharing drafts, asking questions, and coordinating deadlines, Discord is simply a lot more practical than trying to run everything through Tumblr messages.
On Tumblr it can quickly get confusing: links get buried, threads split, notifications get lost, and it becomes harder to keep track of things like WIPs, feedback, and announcements.
Discord lets us keep everything organized in channels, so people can easily find:
• updates
• check-ins/ get pinged
• questions
• piece discussions
• resources and more
It also helps avoid confusion with usernames. Many people use different @ handles across platforms, so having everyone gathered in one server makes communication much smoother.
That said, the Discord server is mainly for the internal working environment of the project.
Public updates, promo posts, and announcements will still be shared on platforms like Tumblr, Bluesky, and other social spaces, so people can follow the project even if they aren’t contributors.
If you enjoy organization, community projects, creative work, or gently wrangling chaos gremlins, modding might be a great fit for you!

Quick little update from the archives: as of today, March 9th, we officially have 9 mod applications submitted!
Which means we previously had 6 applications on March 6th, and now 9 applications on March 9th….
I’m not saying the Force is doing number symbolism again… but I am beginning to suspect the galaxy may be attempting to communicate with us through suspiciously neat patterns!
Either way, I’ve already started reading through the applications, and genuinely, thank you to everyone who has taken the time to apply!! It’s really exciting to see people interested in helping build this project and bring the zine to life!!

Quick little update from your current resident mod gremlin!
As of today, March 6th, we officially have 6 mod applications submitted so far!

I’m not saying the Force is trying to tell us something, but if someone suddenly yells “Execute Order 66” in the distance I will simply pretend I did not hear it and continue organizing spreadsheets-
Jokes aside: thank you so much to everyone who has already applied so far or shared the project!!! It genuinely means a lot to see people excited about helping build this project! The enthusiasm is real and it’s incredibly encouraging!💛
For anyone still considering applying:
Mod applications remain open until March 25th, so there’s still plenty of time! There is absolutely no pressure to rush, take your time reading the information and deciding if you’d like to help run this chaotic little Jedi archive with us!
During this mod application period we’ll be:
• Building the mod team
• Setting up the Discord server (I did like… 80% of it so far, structure-wise with channels, etc)
• Organizing timelines and project structure
• Preparing contributor applications
• Slowly assembling the behind-the-scenes machinery of this zine

The only boundaries are the obvious ones: no incest, no pedophilia, and nothing illegal or harmful. Beyond that, we’re here to celebrate creativity and have fun in this sandbox.

Also, important, this is following this ask I got this morning: AI-generated content is not allowed. No AI-generated writing, no AI art, no using chatbots (Character AI, ChatGPT, etc.) to draft scenes, punch up dialogue, rewrite paragraphs, or generate content that ends up in your final piece.
That means:
- No AI art
- No AI writing
- No chatbot-generated scenes
- No AI-assisted rewriting
I also recently learned (after joining another zine myself) that even some editing tools now use generative AI features. Because of that, I am drawing the line there too. Basic spellcheck built into your word processor is fine, but AI-powered rewriting/suggestion tools aren’t something I will allow for submissions.
We are keeping this 100% human-made brainrot. Spellcheck is fine. Robot ghostwriters are not.

This is a digital zine and a creative sandbox. That means anything is welcome (as long as it’s not AI, hateful, racist, sexist, transphobic, homophobic, pedophilia etc etc)!
We’re accepting things like:
- Fics
- Illustrations
- Comics
- Poems
- Character moments
- Ship pieces
- Gen pieces
- VPs / edits
- Collages
- Etc etc
Basically: if you are emotionally unwell about these games and need to put your blorbos somewhere, this is your space!

For those who didn’t see my earlier post, here’s the rough timeline I proposed a few days ago! I think aiming for a mid-November release would be super fun: it’s the anniversary of Jedi: Fallen Order, which is poetically unhinged and honestly kind of perfect. Plus it gives everyone extra time to work on the pieces they wanna do without feeling rushed!
That said, I’m totally flexible! If people would rather go for a cozy/spooky Nightsister September/October vibe, or even a later release, we can definitely chat about it! This is meant to be chill, not a military campaign. The important thing is that we all have fun and make our blorbos together!!!💛
This is the timeline I proposed a few days ago:
February–March: Interest check + mod team forming
April: Contributor applications open
May: Acceptances + piece claims/prompts
June–August: Creation period: This is when you’ll actually be working on your pieces. Don’t worry, it’s totally chill! I’ll do check-ins here and there to make sure people aren’t lost in the void, but no military briefings or “do you even Jedi?” vibes. It’s just a supportive space to get your blorbos flowing.
Early September: First drafts- By this point, most folks will have something written/drawn/created, but some people might already be done with their pieces, which is awesome. The idea is to start gathering drafts so we can see how everything is shaping up and catch any timeline or format issues early on!
October: Final pieces + formatting + turning-in period. This is when everyone polishes their work, finalizes formatting, and submits. The period runs through early November, so there’s a little wiggle room if you need extra time.
November: You’d have until early November to turn in your pieces. If we stick with a release on November 14th, all works should be in by November 7th, at the latest. That gives the mod team a little breathing room to do final formatting, sprinkle in some last-minute fairy dust, and fix any “oops I forgot a comma” moments before we hit digital launch day!✨
In short: the “creation period” basically stretches from June through early November, giving you plenty of space to work at your own pace while still keeping things on track.
Mid-November: Digital release on the 14th (or around it!)
This is just a framework! Totally flexible and open to adjustments so it works for everyone’s schedule!!
NB: If you KNOW in your BONES that you want to be a mod with me already (like spiritually, cosmically, “this is my calling” energy): PLEASE reach out to me!!
You do not have to wait politely for the form if you’re already vibrating at mod frequency.

Hi hello hey. It is me, Padawan Snack Packer (aka halfling_madmax on AO3), crawling out of my cave like a slightly damp Jedi hermit to announce something I genuinely did not think I would ever do:
I am opening beta reader applications for my big Jedi: Fallen Order → Jedi: Survivor era fic.
Yes. Me. The person who usually writes completely solo with the mindset of “No beta we die like Malicos.”
But!!! People have been really sweet and interested in this fic, and after being repeatedly bonked over the head by Health Issues™ the past few months, I figured… maybe having some extra eyes and emotional support would actually be a galaxy brain move????;-;
So here we are!

[Small Break & Health Update!]
So!! I’m gonna take a small break on here since I’m not opening requests until the month of march + I’m gonna have the Dragon age sale over my art acc!! But before I go, here are some news!
Good news first: I got officially cleared from cadmium poisoning a few days ago as you peeps know!!🎉✨ and let me tell you… it has been amazing to exist without constant stomach cramps and the full “body is betraying me hourly” experience????? 10/10, would recommend being un-poisoned??????? So far I have no damage caused by said-poisoning and to me that’s a miracle cause two months of hell is CRIMINAL-
HOWEVER. Because balance is a lie and 2026 has beef with me personally—
I got recommended primrose oil capsules (skin stuff, eczema, body-focused skin chaos, I’ve talked about it on my art acc) and I was like “sure! why not! let’s heal!”
My body said ABSOLUTELY NOT and I ended up in the ER with ✨anaphylactic shock✨ because the fatty/linoleic acid in them caps decided to throw hands with my hypersensitive/reactive skin system. When I say anaphylactic shock, I mean the full package: red all over, throat swelling, bloodshot eyes, eczema flaring violently over my hands and feet (and under them 😭), the whole allergic bingo card. My immune system saw primrose oil and chose violence.
I love that I was cleared from literal heavy metal poisoning just in time to get taken out by a FLOWER OIL during my exams weeks. Incredible character arc. Defeated cadmium? Easy. Taken down by primrose oil during exam season? Humiliating.
I’m okay now, just wiped out and a little loopy, and once I’m no longer in KO mode I’ll get back to everyone on AO3 + respond properly to all the fic love and messages!!!💛 Thank you SO much for the patience, the kindness, and the general “please survive” vibes, I promise I’m crawling back to fandom as soon as my body stops trying new assassination methods X’D
Anyway if anyone needs me I’ll be drinking water, side-eyeing supplements, and telling 2026 to calm down 😌✨

Hi hello I LIIIIIIVE 🫡 And more importantly: the fics are DONE and POSTED!!!
[ I was officially cleared of cadmium poisoning a few days ago after TWO FULL MONTHS OF IT (which is a sentence I truly did not expect to ever type) and the treatment is FINALLY done!! Right in the middle of exam season. Because of course!]
All the completed raffle fics are posted together on AO3 as one work, organized by chapters, since that’s also how I usually post longer requests and multi-part prompts. Plus, this is better since Tumblr’s written posts can glitch and it would be too much and complicated for peeps to find. Each chapter will be clearly labeled so it’s easy to find which ship it is/which prompt it is, and I’ll be linking everything properly! I’ll also add fics I already posted on here so it’s easier to read! They’re all accessible, even for people without AO3 accounts!
I just want to say thank you SO much for your patience to those who waited and didn’t get mad in my dms (and to those who did: babe, I won’t do anything for you in the future, I didn’t chose to get poisoned and nearly die okay-💀💀💀💀💀). This whole thing took longer than planned because, unfortunately, I did not factor “being poisoned for almost two months” into my fic raffle timeline, nor planned having to be a solo caregiver for an elderly person while studying and working at the same time under meds making me loopy and sick on top of all that😭✨ rookie mistake on my part!
