Yaroslav Grachevsky / Grach
22 • ENTP • main character of my rusreal novel.
I’ve been writing him for 6 years. Started when I was 16, back when he was just “an unstable guy with parental issues.” Now he’s 22 — still unstable, still has issues (but now they’re adult-sized), and a very complicated relationship with his ex.
What makes him special: He’s desperate to be loved and equally desperate to push everyone away. Every conversation is a fight between “please stay” and “get the hell out.”

You’d think that coming to Ella’s place, my presence alone was polluting the environment.
An empty glass sat on the coffee table. Heavy hoop earrings next to it.
“Sit down.” She gestured toward the couch and glided over to the bar cart. “What’ll you have?”
“Ella, I told you, I’m not—” I sat down but didn’t get to finish.
“Wine it is. Perfect.” She grabbed a bottle of red, poured smoothly, and sat beside me.
Her silk robe fell open slightly. Smooth skin, thigh. I wasn’t looking. I was not looking.
“So, Grachevsky.” She took a sip, watching me over the rim of her glass. “What hole did you crawl out of this time to end up at your ex’s place?”
She hadn’t changed. Still just as curious.
“And hot,” the little devil in my head added.
I took a sip. Gave myself a second to shove the dirty thoughts back where they came from. They like to show up uninvited. Harder to kick out.
“Need twenty grand by Monday. Don’t ask why.” I put the glass down. The wine tasted like ass.
She snorted, stretched her leg out, and ran her toe from my knee up to my thigh. I felt it through my jeans. Caught her ankle. She didn’t pull away — just raised an eyebrow, watching for my reaction.
Provoke first, analyze second. Unbearable.
“Twenty,” she repeated slowly. “What, you joined a cult? Paying the entry fee?”
“Yeah.” I snorted. “Cult called ‘Love Thy Neighbor And Don’t Be A Bitch.’ Meetings Thursdays. You should come.”
“Still don’t believe you.”
While she stood there, back turned to the kitchen island, the devil in my head went to work. Supplied visuals. One better than the other.
And I caught myself thinking — put the holiest man alive in my place, and he’d at least consider throwing it all away for one night.
If I had one gram of clean conscience left, I’d probably feel like a massive piece of shit for looking at her like a starving dog.
Can you. Not.

Mr Nobody Against Putin: How Pavel Talankin went from Russian school videographer to Oscar nominee
The US Treasury chief, Scott Bessent, declared that the US Navy, supported by naval vessels from allied nations, would commence convoying oil carriers through the Strait of Hormuz “once it becomes militarily practicable”.
He mentioned that the potential for US Navy convoys—or those from a global alliance—“had consistently been an element of our strategic planning.”
Bessent informed Sky News that,…
