These Red Velvet Crinkle Cookies combine a rich cocoa flavor with a vibrant red color. The powdered sugar coating gives them a lovely crinkle appearance, making them ideal for any special occasion or as a sweet treat at any time.
Ingredients: 1 and 2/3 cups all-purpose flour. 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder. ½ teaspoon baking powder. ¼ teaspoon baking soda. ¼ teaspoon salt. ½ cup unsalted butter, softened. 1 cup granulated sugar. 2 large eggs. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. 1 tablespoon red food coloring. 1/3 cup powdered sugar, for coating.
Instructions: Warm the oven up to 350F 175C and put parchment paper on baking sheets. Mix the cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a medium-sized bowl with a whisk. Mix the softened butter and sugar together in a large bowl until the mixture is light and fluffy. One at a time, add the eggs and beat well after each one. Add the vanilla extract and mix well. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ones and mix them together until they are well mixed. Add the red food coloring and mix it in until the dough is a uniform color. Set the dough aside in the fridge for at least an hour to make it firm. After the dough has been chilled, roll it into 1-inch balls and cover each one with powdered sugar. Leave space between the balls when you put them on the baking sheets that have been prepared. It should take 10 to 12 minutes in a hot oven for the cookies to get crinkly and set around the edges. Take the cookies out of the oven and let them cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheets. Place the cookies on wire racks to cool all the way through. Serve these tasty Red Velvet Crinkle Cookies and enjoy them!
