Kingdom Gospel shall be #preached in all the #world for a #witness to all #nations and #peoples. Only then shall the end come. The #endofdays directly refers to #Revelation, Matthew twenty-four, Mark thirteen, and Luke twenty-one; along with second #Thessalonians are the #trumpets sounding loud warning all nations of the #endoftheage. For #global #governance, shall do what they like. These will be #nations of #lawlessness before the #Lord that reject the #Love of the #Truth. In addition, they will make policies to give them more control over what you eat, listen to, watch on television or the internet, what you buy, what you sell. It is here #Christians look to the Lord and his keeping and protecting power. The end of days is here.

Hebrews 4:2 (WEB) -
For indeed we have had good news preached to us, even as they also did, but the word they heard didn’t profit them, because it wasn’t mixed with faith by those who heard.

The Word Brings Salvation

1 Brothers and sisters, what I want most is for all the people of Israel to be saved. That is my prayer to God. 2 I can say this about them: They really try hard to follow God, but they don’t know the right way. 3 They did not know the way that God makes people right with him. And they tried to make themselves right in their own way. So they did not accept God’s way of making people right. 4 Christ ended the law so that everyone who believes in him is made right with God.

5 Moses writes about being made right by following the law. He says, “The person who obeys these laws is the one who will have life through them.” 6 But this is what the Scriptures say about being made right through faith: “Don’t say to yourself, ‘Who will go up into heaven?’” (This means “Who will go up to heaven to get Christ and bring him down to earth?”) 7 “And don’t say, ‘Who will go down into the world below?’” (This means “Who will go down to get Christ and bring him up from death?”)

8 This is what the Scripture says: “God’s teaching is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart.” It is the teaching of faith that we tell people. 9 If you openly say, “Jesus is Lord” and believe in your heart that God raised him from death, you will be saved. 10 Yes, we believe in Jesus deep in our hearts, and so we are made right with God. And we openly say that we believe in him, and so we are saved.

11 Yes, the Scriptures say, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be disappointed.” 12 It says this because there is no difference between those who are Jews and those who are not. The same Lord is the Lord of all people. And he richly blesses everyone who looks to him for help. 13 Yes, “everyone who trusts in the Lord will be saved.”

14 But before people can pray to the Lord for help, they must believe in him. And before they can believe in the Lord, they must hear about him. And for anyone to hear about the Lord, someone must tell them. 15 And before anyone can go and tell them, they must be sent. As the Scriptures say, “How wonderful it is to see someone coming to tell good news!”

16 But not all the people accepted that good news. Isaiah said, “Lord, who believed what we told them?” 17 So faith comes from hearing the Good News. And people hear the Good News when someone tells them about Christ.

18 But I ask, “Did those people not hear the Good News?” Yes, they heard—as the Scriptures say,

“Their voices went out all around the world.
Their words went everywhere in the world.”

19 Again I ask, “Did the people of Israel not understand?” Yes, they did understand. First, Moses says this for God:

“I will use those who are not really a nation to make you jealous.
I will use a nation that does not understand to make you angry.”

20 Then Isaiah is bold enough to say this for God:

“The people who were not looking for me—
they are the ones who found me.
I made myself known to those who did not ask for me.”

21 But about the people of Israel God says,

“All day long I stood ready to accept those people,
but they are stubborn and refuse to obey me.”

GETTING BACK ON PLAN⠀

Acts 14:24-26a: After going through Pisidia, they came into Pamphylia, and when they had preached the word in Perga, they went down to Attalia. From Attalia they sailed back to Antioch…⠀

Thoughts for Today:⠀
Paul and Barnabas certainly had some interesting experiences on this, their first missionary journey. They were shunned, rejected, run out of town, and stoned. They performed miracles, preached with boldness, converted many new believers, formed churches, and appointed elders. I wonder if, when they started, they had a detailed plan or if they just let the Holy Spirit guide them day by day. I wonder if, before they started, they did a goal setting exercise (i.e. “We’re going to make fifty presentations of the Gospel, form five new churches, and baptize 100 new believers”) and established a formal travel itinerary (“We’re going to go through Pisidia on the 15th, stopping in Perga for three days and hold two seminars each day at the Holiday Inn, before going on to Attalia on the 18th”). I don’t think so. I think they had a general idea of where they were going to go and what they were going to do, but from there they let the Lord lead.⠀

From our passage today it seems that Paul and Barnabas were back on a schedule: through Pisidia, into Pamphylia, preach in Perga, down to Attalia, now back to Antioch. But whose schedule were they on, theirs or the Lord’s? Do you think they got up each morning with their day so tightly booked they knew exactly the number of minutes allocated for lunch? I don’t think so. Instead they probably knew generally where they were going and when they would be there (as our passage today reflects), but they allowed the Lord to mold their day and agenda.⠀

What Hardships Do You Need To Go Through?⠀

Acts 14:20b-22⠀
The next day he and Barnabas left for Derbe. They preached the good news in that city and won a large number of disciples. Then they returned to Lystra, Iconium and Antioch, strengthening the disciples and encouraging them to remain true to the faith. “We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God,” they said.⠀

Thoughts for Today:⠀
Paul is like the “Eveready Bunny.” He just keep going and going and going. One day Paul is stoned and left for dead in Lystra, and the next day he leaves with Barnabas for the neighboring city of Derbe to preach some more. Am I the only one, or do you find that amazing as well? It’s not like Derbe wouldn’t have heard about what happened in Lystra, so in some ways the risks had increased. I wonder how Paul and Barnabas really felt on the inside – did they any have fear or doubt? I wonder what they talked about on the road to Derbe and over dinner that evening – do you think what happened in Lystra came up? I wonder what they thought about and dreamed about that night – did Paul flinch as he relived the stones hitting his body? As they got up the next morning and prepared to preach, I wonder how they imagined they would be received – would it be with acceptance and belief or something worse?⠀

2Co 1:19-20 KJV 19 For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, even by me and Silvanus and Timotheus, was not yea and nay, but in him was yea. 20 For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.

If the devil were wise enough and would stand by in silence and let the gospel be preached, he would suffer less harm. For when there is no battle for the gospel it rusts and it finds no cause and no occasion to show its vigor and power. Therefore, nothing better can befall the gospel than that the world should fight it with force and cunning.

THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO MARK BIBLE STUDY

Author and Date

Unlike the epistles, the gospels do not name their authors in their texts. The early church fathers, however, unanimously affirm that Mark wrote this second gospel. Papias, bishop of Hieropolis, writing about a.d. 140, noted: “And the presbyter [the Apostle John] said this: ‘Mark having become the interpreter of Peter, wrote down accurately whatsoever he remembered. It was not,…
