HAIIII HI ahhh omg i’m happy to get an opportunity to talk abt my thoughts on Taxi Driver!! (though they won’t be as well expressed as I wish they could be on account of the sleep deprivation >.<) the entirety of the film shows Travis’ downward spiral, becoming more unhinged and losing most aspects of his humanity, stripped from him due to his inability to fit back into society after the war, he’s so completely alone…well, what i’m getting at is that we see his descent into madness so to speak, he fully plans on annihilating what he perceives as the scum of the world and then killing himself, but it backfires and he ends up living with what he’s done, still unable to connect with others. nothing meaningfully changes about the world or his life (save for others perception of him, being labeled a hero especially in iris’ parents eyes) after he executes his plan, and to me, that is a perfect ending to this movie :3 and, honestly, i fully believe everything /actually/ happened because i feel that the ‘it was all just in their head!!!’ thing is incredibly lacklustre and a bit of a silly theory…. well, what are your thoughts on it? the movie as a whole, the ending, was it fulfilling in your opinion?? i’d love to know ^_^

love is a window in time-
the briefest of forevers
like the kitchen window
of my childhood home,
when the evening sun fell sideways
landing through the glass
turning dust to fire.
i remember standing there-
barefoot on cool linoleum,
the backyard stretching out
past the fig trees,
and the cinder-block fence
that held in nothing
but our small idea of the world.
we were laughing at something-
i don’t remember what -and
that’s how it is.
the words go first -while
the light stays.
for a moment
everything was suspended-
the hum of cicadas,
the slow drift of smoke from a neighbor’s burn pile,
my father’s voice somewhere behind me
singing to no one in particular.
and within that square of gold
i believed-
without effort,
without question
that this was it.
this warmth that
could not possibly end.
this sky beyond the fence
had chosen us
for its forever.
but the light shifted,
as it always does.
the sun slipped lower.
the room cooled-
and the laughter quietly moved
into memory.
love is not the years that follow.
It is the way the air felt
in that narrow band of evening-
how your face held the sun,
how my chest ached
with something too large to name.
love is a window in time.
-we do not live there.
we pass it,
touch the glass,
and carry the warmth
long after
the light has gone.

HAII ^u^ oh it’s hands down gotta be Ravenous 1999, that’s one of my favorite movies like. ever. it’s so strange and wonderful and includes cannibalism <333 very much my vibe, runner ups would be Audition 1999 (such a phenomenal film) or Being John Malkovich 1999 which is. honestly a movie i’ve never heard anyone else talk about but i’d recommend it with my entire soul, very very good
