Yes!! Omg. Okay so basically. The game takes place on an island (shocking) where these streamers record their experiences and shit, and then there’s a vote held where the viewers can choose who did best with whatever challenges they were given (kinda like a game show, yeah?)
BUT!!!!! Everything ends up going south and they’re all basically just trying to survive (with the help of the viewers!)
Now, as the player you’re one of the viewers, and you can pick different dialogue options to unlock different offshoots of the story, or just unlock different bits of dialogue (that will still lead to the same outcome)
It’s a pretty long game with a LOT of different options to pick, withhhhhh 16 different endings and 65 cutscenes to get
The game is still (and will probably forever be) unfinished, but it’s still really peak and yeah :3

Gotta put the beginning of the TL note before the video this time, because otherwise the conversation at the end might be straight up incorrigible, esp if you aren’t familiar with kmedia.
So, in Korean, the distinction between polite and informal speech is much more pronounced than in English, and speaking informally to someone you’re not supposed to speak informally to is much more of a faux pas. As such, switching to using informal speech can be Kind Of A Big Deal. Though not necessarily: for example, it’s considered natural for people of the same age (born the same year) to speak informally to each other right away.
Now, this was not particularly reflected in translation, but most - though not all - characters have been using polite speech with each other so far. Hanse addresses almost everyone with their name + polite -ssi honorific; Ezra has been even slightly more formal, using full name + -ssi. So, this far, Ezra has actually been addressing Hanse as “Lee Hanse-ssi” - more or less “Mr. Lee Hanse” - except on one occasion: at the end of ch.3, when he used “Hanse-ya” (name + informal suffix -ya) instead. You can tell which line because the chat reacts to it - as, again, switching to using informal speech can be Kind Of A Big Deal.
…Okay, I think this is enough to understand what’s going on in that one conversation at the end of the episode; I’ll add a bit more afterwards, but for now, let’s tune in.

As this time it was not immediately overshadowed by a scream from the woods, both Hanse and the chat react to it. But is Ezra actually committing the Informal Speech Crimes™ here? Well. On one hand, he and Hanse are actually the same age, so technically they could’ve been speaking informally like this from the start. On the other hand, he does switch up an already established address pretty abruptly. So with this in mind,

Thanks to certain people 😑 (my beloved make no mistake) we need another translation note today.
So, the concept Ezra is talking about here is what we would call having an ‘alter ego’ or a 'persona’ in English. Like how Batman is Bruce Wayne’s alter ego. Or how drag performers usually embody a persona on stage, that can be slightly or very different from how they act when not in drag. Now, if I was only translating character lines, I would do it like this:
Ezra: Hmm~ Actually, I never told my colleagues, but I’m interested in an alter ego. Jin: Alter ego? Ezra: Yes. Another word for it is 'persona’. Ezra: It refers to the concept of doing something different as a person separate from my current self.
The problem is the chat replies, as they react to specific words used in Korean. So, Ezra first calls it 부캐, which is the word that was originally used for alt characters in games, and only somewhat recently has been adopted by entertainment industry - hence “This is not even a game?” reply. Then, he uses 멀티 페르소나 - which is just english words 'multi-persona’ spelled in korean - which is a more classic way to refer to the same concept. And then the chat, ofc, goes “멀티 what?” - “멀티 페르소나” - “but what is 페르소나” - which just does not work if you translate it as 'persona’ in the first place. So I um… did my best at mixing and matching both approaches, let’s say 😑
Ah, right, and tl note 2: changing the chat message “thank you speedwagon!” -> “thanks wikipedia!” Apparently Speedwagon, as in a character from JJBA, is a korean meme - something about him explaining things and people adopting his manner of doing so. I first thought of translating the reply as 'thanks cap’, but as far as i can tell, the meme doesn’t have a sarcastic undertone in korean, so i went for a more neutral option.
