Defenders: Hellcat And Nighthawk
Art by Patrick Zircher

Raymond Kane (f.k.a. Kyle Richmond) of Earth-31916 was a Black hero, a savvy businessman & brutal vigilante, the nocturnal crime-fighter Nighthawk; inspired to heroism after his parents were killed in a racist hate crime, he first focused specifically on stopping White-on-Black crimes; though, in time, he found himself aiding his Earth’s Squadron Supreme against even bigger threats; a multiversal catastrophe then led him to Earth-616, where he joined a vengeful new Squadron, helped reform once-villain Deadly Nightshade & (before being killed by Hydra), even briefly aided the Avengers’ Hawkeye & Red Wolf!

This version of Nighthawk was a big deal in the Avengers for a minute. Where’d he go?

I only call Supreme Powers Nighthawk a psycho because it’s true. Don’t get me wrong I think he’s cool, his costume is sick as hell I kinda dig his story in the Supreme Power but he’s still for the most part an “Ultimate comics interpretation” of the character so he’s essentially cranked up on the violence. Still will forever be pissed at Occupy Avengers for having him die in an incredibly stupid fashion like everything else in Occupy Avengers.
Like guy was as paranoid and angry as Batman generally tends to be written by normies and he “died out of costume” because David Walker wanted to hit home how bad Hydra is during Secret Empire, & to make Tilda Johnson the New Nighthawk as we never follow up on that because Occupy Avengers was utter ass.

You know it’s crazy to me that we haven’t seen the OG Nighthawk since 2011(!). Like holy shit. The last update we had on him was in 2016 when he was allegedly captured by the Skrulls then nothing. We kinda got stuck with this psycho who died like an idiot:

Or this guy who’s like….created by Mephisto or something?

Like I know Nighthawk is a Batman-wanabe but still crazy considering the dude was at least a decent C-lister to appear in stuff like Defenders.

Gotta love how the “retired” F-117 just keeps randomly showing up.
Goes to show just how advanced that design really is, the USAF just keeps finding reason to keep the airframes flyable.
