This was a relic of the old guard. What could a deactivated unit do?

With a swift, brutal movement born of nerves and a need to prove herself, Hana drove her fist into the Snow’s solar plexus. The crack of polymer echoed in the metal box. It wasn’t a tactical strike. It was a beat-down. A few more thuds for good measure, a senseless venting of first-mission jitters against a powerless opponent.

A low hum intensified. The Snow’s eyes snapped open, glowing a fierce, icy blue. The impact, the violent intent, had triggered an emergency failsafe. Power surged back into her limbs. She moved like a blur, catching Hana’s next wild punch and twisting, sending the younger shinobi crashing into a stack of crates.

“Rookie mistake,” the Snow hissed, her voice a chilling whisper. “You don’t kick a sleeping dragon.”

Hana scrambled up, her heart hammering. This was real now. The deactivated unit was a whirlwind of precise, devastating motion. Hana relied on her new training, her agility, her raw power. The container became their arena, a symphony of clanging metal and grunts. Hana took a hit to the ribs, the Snow received a kick to the shoulder. They were evenly matched, a violent dance between a fresh spark and a re-ignited ember.

Finally, they crashed against opposite walls, breathing ragged. The fight was a draw. The Snow’s blue eyes bore into Hana’s violet ones, not with hatred, but with a cold, analytical contempt. Without another word, she triggered a panel on the floor and vanished into a hidden compartment, leaving Hana alone with her bruised body and churning gut.

The mission was a failure. Hana reported back, her story a jumbled mess of a “chance encounter” and a “defensive struggle.” But in the hidden networks, the truth was a burning fuse.

Three days later, Hana’s handler slid a tablet across the table. On it was a news clip from a fringe Korean network. The headline read: “Unprovoked Attack on Dormant KSN Unit: A ‘Rookie’ Shinobi’s Brutality Against Our ‘Snow Baby’.”

The video, grainy but damning, showed Hana pummeling the deactivated woman. It was followed by footage of their subsequent fight, framed as a heroic Korean ninja, the one they called 'Snow,’ defending herself after being cowardly attacked while unconscious.

“Her name is Soo-Min,” her handler said, his face grim. “Youngest operative ever fielded in the old Joint Security Area. They call her 'Snow Baby'… a term of endearment. And of operational value.”

Hana stared, horrified. “It was a moment of… stupidity. A lapse in judgement.”

“It doesn’t matter. The Korean Ninja Brotherhood is officially lodging a complaint with the Pan-Asian Co-Prosperity Council. They’re framing it as an act of aggression that threatens the 'present globalization peace theory.’ Look.”

The old nationalist units, like this new Japanese shinobi, operate with a rogue-state mentality. For true peace, all such assets must be brought under the banner of the global authority. During my time on the National Security Council (NSC) staff, while serving as Homeland Security and Counterterrorism Advisor to Vice President Mike Pence, I saw firsthand how vital the NSC is to the safety and stability of our nation. However, my relationship with the NSC didn’t begin there. I’ve worked closely with it throughout my career, starting in the early 2000s. Over the years, I’ve witnessed some of the most skilled, dedicated public servants in government walk those halls. It used to be that serving on the NSC staff was one of the highest honors in public service, a role reserved for the best of the best.

The level of expertise was once unmatched. Regional specialists, career diplomats, intelligence professionals, military strategists, and legal and economic minds all worked in concert to ensure the President and Vice President were informed by real facts, grounded analysis, and strategic foresight. That’s what the NSC was built for: to coordinate, not politicize; to unify, not divide; to protect, not perform.

Now? That integrity is being gutted in real-time.

According to CNN, over 100 NSC staffers were placed on administrative leave late last week. Many of them are career professionals who have served under multiple administrations. They’re being pushed out and replaced by political loyalists who lack even the most basic qualifications for the roles they now occupy.

This isn’t a restructuring. It’s a purge. And it will cost us.

What the NSC Actually Does

The National Security Council serves as the strategic hub of the American government during times of calm and crisis. It is the only entity designed to cut across every major department, ensuring unity of effort, speed of action, and clarity of purpose.

It:

• Coordinates interagency policy across Defense, State, Homeland Security, Treasury, Energy, Justice, Commerce, HHS, and beyond.
• Synthesizes intelligence and threat assessments from across the Intelligence Community.
• Develops strategies on defense, foreign affairs, cybersecurity, disinformation, migration, terrorism, and disaster response.
• Prepares and provides real-time situational awareness.
• Guides diplomatic and military posture, manages crisis response and ensures continuity of government.
• Tracks and responds to foreign and domestic threats to American lives and institutions.

The NSC doesn’t just manage information; it orchestrates it. When it functions as designed, it gives America the ability to respond quickly, wisely, and proportionately. But strip out the expertise, and you’re left with noise, dysfunction, and delayed decisions in moments that demand precision.

Experience in national security can’t be faked. It’s forged in classified briefings, deployments, war rooms, and interagency planning sessions. The professionals who staff the NSC bring decades of institutional memory, regional knowledge, and cross-sector understanding. That matters.

You cannot improvise your way through a missile launch alert. You cannot “wing it” through a global pandemic. I saw the cost of that firsthand. When COVID-19 struck, the coordination process was ignored, the experts were sidelined, and the federal response fragmented. People died who didn’t have to. That is what happens when the NSC is sidelined.

And now, it’s happening again, with even fewer guardrails.

The Hypocrisy of the “Deep State” Narrative

And then there’s Marco Rubio.
It’s rich to hear him claim it’s Trump vs. the “deep state.” Because I remember precisely what Rubio did during Trump’s first term: he hand-picked NSC senior directors for the Western Hemisphere because he wanted control over Cuba and Venezuela policy. Not based on merit. Not based on qualifications. Based on politics.

A newly declassified U.S. intelligence memo contradicted Trump’s latest fearmongering about Venezuela. It clearly states that President Nicolás Maduro is not directing Tren de Aragua, the criminal gang Trump claims is “invading” the U.S. This lie isn’t just baseless, it’s dangerous. It was crafted to stoke fear and justify extremist policies. And when professionals inside the government speak up to correct it, they’re smeared and silenced.

The Trump administration placed a dramatic number of National Security Council staffers on administrative leave Friday as part of an agency overhaul, multiple outlets reported.

The house-cleaning was reportedly overseen by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who’s also serving as interim national security adviser following Mike Waltz’s ouster.

A White House official told Axios that about half the department’s 350 members were removed as part of an effort to scale back a department packed with employees who don’t align with President Donald Trump’s political agenda.

“The NSC is the ultimate Deep State,” a White House official told Axios. “It’s Marco vs. the Deep State. We’re gutting the Deep State,” the official said, noting that people removed from the NSC will be placed in other government roles.
Rubio also oversaw massive cuts at the State Department last month.

The NSC is tasked with advising the president on foreign policy and other matters of national security and helping coordinate policies across various government agencies.

But another White House official told Axios the restructured NSC would serve to “coordinate and advise — not carry out — policy.”
People familiar with the matter told CNN that staffers were given less than an hour to clean out their desks. They also said NSC employees were recently re-interviewed by the Office of Presidential Personnel as part of a plan to scale back the department.

The Trump Regime made a national security-endangering move to put at least 100+ NSC staffers on administrative leave to realign it with MAGA policy goals.
