- [ ] Memento Rating 10/10 Enjoyment 10/10.

A Fascinating and ingenious thriller. Memento was thrillingly disorienting and strategically weaved confusion with mystery. Guy pierce abd Carrie Anne moss were terrific in their respective roles. The visuals were dark and gritty sometimes using a grey scale, maybe eluding to the fogginess or dream like state of his memory? I loved how the movie was structured. The plot moving backwards allowing the audience to piece more information together as we saw further into the past of Leonard. Mirroring the state of confusion and dizziness Leonard must constantly be in because of his condition. The plot allows us no context to what’s gone before in each scene a bit like Leonard’s perspective. Leonard is a character that really grows on you as the story progresses. His ability to accept his life long condition and cope with it as well as his drive to avenge the death of his wife is admirable. Making the reveal all the more shocking. His decision to live in ignorance despite knowing it will lead to the harm of others is fascinating and horrifying at the same time.

It’s not just a movie with an unreliable main character, thé main character can’t even trust himself or anyone around him creating this great atmosphere of paranoia. This movie is a mind field leaving tendrils of information for the audience to piece together making the foreshadowing exquisite. The fact that Leonard HIMSELF is unknowingly following HIS OWN CLUES is so clever. The clues are all there you just have to piece them together. Ironically thé beginning is really good closure as we assume Leonard with stop killing people after Tony is no longer there to manipulate him. Or maybe he’ll decide to start the cycle all over again? Probably the smartest who dunnit film IVe ever seen or will ever see

I recently had seen The Rocky Horror Picture Show and it wasn’t what I expected it to be at all. It was wacky, wild and full of twists and turns I never even saw coming. It is from 1975 but I highly recommend you see this fantastic movie if you haven’t already. The songs are phenomenal and it’s a fantastic musical. I really thought there was going to be horror in this movie. It wasn’t even scary at all but I did find myself enjoying it 🪨😱📸🎬📺🎭📀
