this song is from ten years ago but it could also be from like. 2003 and my cool-music friend Ashley* told me to try and download it from Napster or wherever as we’re talking on AOL instant messenger and recommending each other songs** to try and download using sketchy P2P software where everything was always mislabeled or for some reason just a loop of the song’s chorus for several minutes. (gosh it was annoying when you couldn’t just Stream Almost Any Piece of Music Immediately.) so like. a little emo for my current tastes but also a really well-delivered vocal in that style, very nice Yowliness. also gorgeous guitars all around and rock solid composition (the fun scritchy-scratchy chords that accompany the opening verse before the guitar sound fills out! so good.). and then there’s this weird feather soft outro with so much fret scratch and ripply distortion on the guitars!

*knowing about cool music wasn’t her defining personality trait or anything but it’s the one that’s relevant to this song description!

**lol the grammar suggestion (“grammar suggestion”) thinks I should change that to “recommending each other’s songs”??? why is it assuming Ashley and I were writing songs, separately? we were not writing any songs, although I think she owned a bass guitar she could sort of play maybe.
