Why do years of vitriolic Mame-hate not get the universal condemnation a single criticism of JoJo does 🤔

Or
Why I do not support all women:

You know what is really funny, when Director Mame did even one thing that international BL fanimies did not like, at the FIRST “offence” she received a tsunami of hatred; was called names and slurs; faced outlandish lies and slander; angry mobs encouraged boycotts of her work and more - this went on FOR YEARS.
When male Directors depict terrible, abusive, masc4masc men as they often appear in reality - Only Friends, Kinn Porsche, Playboyy et, these men are worshipped as edgy, transgressive, boundary breakers - and not in the slightest affected by internalised homophobia or externalised misogyny, even while they disappointed and tuned out millions in the BL fan community.
“We Love LBC/TTTS/LITA But we Hate Mame”

Mame’s controversial yet most consequential works are the ones that expanded the Thai BL industry, massively increasing the number of local and international sponsors chasing creators to be associated with more BL productions.

All of the equally high-profile names we hear being defended today are those whose current prominence is associated with indisputable “BL fatigue”, and a decline in industry output. Everything fans swore not to like about Mame’s work - whether creative competence or queer politics, was put down to the claim that she is personally evil, a useless writer, and hater of gay men and an unforgivably straight woman. However by comparison, questionable work in flops created by the queer men in question are said to bear no responsibility whatsoever for the qualitative decline in the state of the industry they entered at what was arguably its upward trajectory. It’s now that some want to separate the artist from the state of Thai BL art.

Any new international fan - because this was a Anglo-American not Thai phenomena, who entered the field of BL knows that Mame is the one Director that its okay to hate and been loud about their misogyny would be welcomed with no comeback, with the added bonus of blanket public support. To the extent that the slightest deviation would be met by sustained violence.
Throughout all these years of international enmity Mame never once deactivated in a self pitying tantrum when she was criticised. What did she do? Mame took those criticisms like a woman and came back better each time.

Mame didn’t become a professional victim like male Directors under fire routinely do.
Even her much maligned Tharn Type The Series is the decisive turning point phenomenon that brought many gay male Directors and Writers into the industry, after she took many of the professional risks that gave them the glass elevator to a lucrative mainstream and even international filmaking career the likes of which they would never have known were it not for the contributions of people like Mame to build the Thai industry BL.
TTTS was the first to demonstrate that a high-heat BL adaptation could make it in the artistic BL mainstream, pull global audiences, find a place on international streaming platforms, as well as become a massive commercial success in terms of future corporate endorsements for the lead actors and investors coming forward to fund more works like TTTS.
To my knowledge not one of them, after reaping most of the benefits - but paying none of the costs, of an industry Mame had such a huge hand in helping to build up from nothing, gives her any thanks or respect for being able to ride into the big times on Mame’s artistic coattails. As far as they’re concerned she is a legitimate object only of scorn.

On the contrary, among her colleagues in the Thai BL industry, Mame carries only the blame for the shortcomings of male Directors on their most successful projects (hilariously, these are the same BLs they worked on with her and have never been able to beat the worldwide success of those titles to this day 😆); is derided in their anti-BL BL scripts; ridiculed each time they performatively signal “consent” in one of their productions, and delegitimised in their documentaries about what’s wrong with the BL industry.
There are senior men in the Thai BL industry who have raped or sexually harassed actors; watch other men under their authority commit similar violations and happily do absolutely nothing; chronically deny BL artists their pay; financially swindle fans; and a range of other crimes, but no one does hit-job videos or trend vengeful social media posts like they do when Mame doesn’t write a character the way a few loud supremacist international fans (Thais are not on the Mame-hate train) want. That’s why we can hardly remember most of these men’s names, because only women get this treatment - see also Chai Jidan.
Why oh, why I wonder, does this keep happening to women 🤔.

TYPE OF REVIEW : GOOD OL’ REVIEW
No spoilers.
I finally got the chance to watch Mame with my family last New Year’s Day, and I came away with a lot to think about. I grew up watching I Love Lucy and have long admired Lucille Ball’s energy, charm, and comedic brilliance, but I hadn’t really seen many of her films. Mame has always intrigued me because of its reputation and the criticism…
