Now idk much about Pear tbh. He definitely has some magic in some way, but he’s kind of a chaotic kid. A bit of a night owl as well. He’s a pretty happy kid too, always hanging out with his parents.
Ok it took me ten billion years to think of something that’s more than five sentences BUT, Pear loves his parents, obviously. And he’s the son of a spirit. So with his magic and things he’s sorta pressured to be some sort of important guardian figure to something. As a kid he’s excited about being like his mama, but as he gets older he really doesn’t want to be a “spirit”. He wants to be a normal guy. He wants to sail the sea. He and Ciela get into a lot of arguments about this and it kinda leads to a lot of issues. June and Pear loved each other but they grew to be very resentful of what each person had. Pear’s mom was very active in his life. June has the freedom to do whatever he wants. These things that each brother wants but doesn’t have while the other one has it and don’t appreciate it enough puts a lot of strain on their relationship.
After bad stuff happens, Linebeck stops sailing the sea and gives his boat to June when he’s older, and that makes Pear very upset cuz it solidifies his forced role as a spirit. He will never be able to do what he wants and it was never a choice. He and June have a horrible and nasty argument and cut each other off. Pear eventually runs away and avoids everyone in his family.
Ofc, they run into each other at some point and reconcile, both apologizing for taking out their anger on each other. Eventually June meets his mom and comes to peace with things, and Pear and Ciela reconnect, with Ciela allowing him to sail the sea while he helps people, as some sort of compromise. They especially mellow out when they get married and have kids of their own
I love Linebeck, Ciela, and Jolene but I can’t imagine any of them actually being good parents. They try, but they’re not the best. Ciela doesnt understand why Pear isn’t honored or wanting to be a spirit. It’s always good to help Oshus! And to help his mom too! Jolene wasn’t ready to be a mom and I can’t see her ever wanting to be a mom. She tried to raise June, but recognized that she wasn’t built for it and so gave him to his father, knowing being with him is better than her. And Linebeck, while more fit to raise kids, was still a single parent raising two kids by himself. Ciela would come by to help, but she was too busy to really be active, so Linebeck would def succumb to stress. He especially grew very depressed and unmotivated when Link dies (i did mention Link dies pretty young here right?) so that doesn’t help. Naturally that comes with a lot of issues for these boys growing and does impact them.
They love their parents. They know they tried and cannot resent them. But they chose their partners very carefully to make sure their own kids would have a more stable life than what they had.
And yeah! That’s some stuff with Pear! And June too lol. June sails the sea and just kinda does his own thing. He goes between new Hyrule and the Great Sea a lot, mostly to visit Aryll who was the most stable female figure in his life. Pear stays mostly in the great sea, but not New Hyrule. I like them a lot
