Imagining if Wing never died but Drift did have to leave, and then eventually when the war was over and everyone was returning to Cybertron there would be Drift, looking around for a face in the crowd. he sees some members of the circle of light until finally, there is Wings face
So around 2016 - 2020, comic books were making fun of Trump left and right. tbh it usually sucked because attempts to discuss Trump artistically are usually hampered by creatives’ weird obsession with mocking his diction, his appearance and other shit that at the end of the day no one cares about when it’s a rich white bloke.
tbh I think Baxter Stockman’s mayoral run is actually one of the better commentaries on The Donald, even if it isn’t really intended as one.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - the IDW Collection vol. 13, IDW
OK so feel free to judge me and doubt the honesty of this, but two of the dudes I used to play internet Dungeons & Dragons with actually participated in the January 6th riot lol. Both of them were rich white men, one of whom was “trust fund in the seven digits” rich. Neither were overtly conservative, in fact one was a big Obama Guy before the Hillary v. Trump election, and because this is back when nerd culture was even more racist I honest to god just never saw either of them interact with A Black Guy or A Transgender Person or whatever, so I was never in a situation with them where they could reveal themselves. Beyond that, politics and racism and so on simply never came up, it just wasn’t that kind of scene man.
Anyway around 2015 or so, these boys started getting very political, like freakishly so. They were fully sucked down the incel rabbit hole. One was a Mormon and those people, as you know, never fuck, and the other was going through a break-up with his Chinese-American girlfriend. Both of them were sucked dowm MGTOW, MRA grievance politics bullshit, and that led them directly to Trump.
So, I asked the rich atheist with the Asian ex-girlfriend, mate what the fuck. And he explained that what appeals to him about Trump is that he’s a “proven businessman” who “understands the economy,” who comes from outside of the political establishment. He’s not a Democrat or a Republican (he’s just running as one). Yes okay, it’s alarming that he’s rich and a reality TV celebrity, but he’s no less compromised by wealth and American fame culture than any other politician. This is someone who originally liked “Trump or Bernie Sanders” until he became politically radicalized enough to recognize Bernie, who to be absolutely clear here is a centrist by non-American standards, as an evil fiendish communist who wants to do a race war or something.
So, I think Baxter Stockman’s mayoral arc is interesting, because he is what many weird insular libertarian-leaning dudes like this man I used to play D&D with genuinely thought Trump was at the time. They were seeing this proven businessman who, yes, is an asshole to everybody but why are we pretending to be nice, and who yes is probably evil but at leat you can rely on him to act within his own self-interest ala some kind of insipid Ayn Randian ideal. Which, imo, is a better political commentary than “haha donald trump talks like he’s disabled and wears make-up like he’s gay and” or whatever the liberal establishment was churning out at the time lol.

I just know that Drunk Deadlock would scream-cry Dear Agony and Ashes of Eden. And also probably Anthem of the Angels. He would like emo punk whatever music from the mid 2000’s-2010’s. What no I am totally not projecting my music taste onto this fictional character what kind of a miscreant do you take me for

So I’ve been watching the live action TMNT series from the 90s with a few friends and there’s a moment where they’re offered a potentially bad option to broker a deal with the villain. Splinter says, “I myself have never met a soul who is irredeemable,” because Live Action Splinter has the same moral code as Superman, basically.
Meanwhile, IDW Splinter my beloved,

IDW Splinter has the exact same morality as a Star Trek captain. The second he makes Admiral (King of Foot Stuff in the Foot Clan) he’s like, oooh… ooh I’m gonna do dirty shit. I’m gonna do dirty shit now. eheheh and I wring my fiendish little rat hands…
