I think there is a difference between being a hater and being hateful
A hater is just someone that will tell you if they do not like something, they will not sugar coat their feelings to align with something they do not feel, and they will also tell why if the situation calls for it
Being hateful is actively insulting and looking down on people and things that you do not enjoy without reason or prompting. It is commenting on random people who made a weird face in public because you have to make fun of this random stranger to anyone who will listen. It is complaing about people to their friends. It is not letting other people have problems because you have a problem. It is not letting other people take care of themselves because you do not take care of yourself. It is deciding that what hurts other people does not matter because you are not other people.
Hater is something you call your friend when they disagree with you
Hateful is a word for people who are not happy with their lives and take it out on everyone else
