Too many ideas, too little time…
I finally completed the portrait of my tengu OC. A character I created mainly because I was saving his name in case Anet made tengus a playable race, and when I realized they weren’t doing it…well I just stored it. But then I thought “I don’t need to play. Let’s just draw him!”
I have not much of his story yet, though. I know he’s from Echovald and somehow related to Ayumi. And for his looks, I got inspired on the Secretary Bird. In the end he didn’t look very different from other tengus around but he still has his distinctive head feathers and I love it. My son said that being a secretary bird, he should come from a desert type place but I am not sure if there are tengus in Elona so I’m sticking to my original idea.
His name is Desubi R’alarbol. If you can speak Spanish and know the lyrics of the song “Asturias Patria Querida”, don’t kill me, please.

Arenanet is really sitting on gold when it comes to merch.
I was thinking about all the amazing npcs in Tyria and the realization just came to me.
What about collection cards?
Blank card of the Commander being the holy grail, Dragons having their own category, villains as well, Destiny’s Edge, Dragon’s Watch, mentors, figures of power. There are so many.
Bonus idea: get voice actors on it. Having a character card with VA'a signature would be amazing. And of course commanders’ voices too.
At this point I’m just sitting, designing merch, and begging Anet to sell it. PLEASE 🥺. There are so many creative partners, I think there is no bigger praise than having your own art become official and used on merch.

Well, here goes my participation in March’s Vsartparty (NA server).
This time I have had it hard to decide what to draw. The party was quiet. Too quiet. Maybe because we couldn’t use chairs and other props, there was not much roleplaying and even the chat was quiet sometimes. As someone said that probably meant everybody was drawing, but that made it hard for me to find a moment I wanted to draw.
Also, husband and me were very tired (we had been on a 8 hours drive trip) so that probably added to the mood 😅
Finally and after checking again the screenshots I took I decided to draw the characters who better showed to me that quietness… people who looked as if they were waiting for something to happen.
I really love the choices i made and I don’t know if I got their personality properly but that’s what they made me feel.
Like the first time I thought adding some color details was mandatory. I think this time I got it better.
I have found three of the accounts but couldn’t find the fourth one. Please tag yourself if you recognize your handsone guy! Everybody identified now. Thanks!

I may have mentioned once or twice, that I have a tengu OC.
ALTStory time!~
A few years ago, shortly after I started playing GW2, I made a concept of peacock tengu character. I haven’t played HoT yet, and was fascinated with Malyck hinting at another sylvari tree. I didn’t mind spoilers, so I did some research to see if this topic gets picked up in HoT. Got disappointed that it didn’t. Decided to explore it by myself! I then started writing a fanfic (like you usually do in this situation), starring my sylvari firstborn OC and this feathery guy above. I planned to send them on another continent, together with Malyck, in search of the other tree, but I am no writer and the project flopped.
I wasn’t really good at drawing then, so I have never designed Harvey’s appearance till now. He was just living in the back of my mind~ At least until I created my human ranger Satyn Lee-Maede.
Connecting these two gave my tengu a new life. They are the captain and the first mate of Satyn’s ship - Calypso. The crew is also a band gaining additional gold for throwing concerts on the harbor from their ship. They mostly sing sea shanties but sometimes they breach out to pop.
