Too many ideas, too little time…

I finally completed the portrait of my tengu OC. A character I created mainly because I was saving his name in case Anet made tengus a playable race, and when I realized they weren’t doing it…well I just stored it. But then I thought “I don’t need to play. Let’s just draw him!”

I have not much of his story yet, though. I know he’s from Echovald and somehow related to Ayumi. And for his looks, I got inspired on the Secretary Bird. In the end he didn’t look very different from other tengus around but he still has his distinctive head feathers and I love it. My son said that being a secretary bird, he should come from a desert type place but I am not sure if there are tengus in Elona so I’m sticking to my original idea.

His name is Desubi R’alarbol. If you can speak Spanish and know the lyrics of the song “Asturias Patria Querida”, don’t kill me, please.

Human personal story on level 1

Spouse tried to convince me to try PvP for the rush week. I H A T E direct competition so bad. Somehow they managed to talk me into one game…which turned into one more…which turned into 5 wins out of 7 rounds.

I am actually really enjoying myself. I don’t think I’d ever play ranked because I don’t want to drag people down with actual consequences, but unranked is so fun.

this is really rough but i wanted to get the idea down on paper lol..a dragon scion oc! cause you guys made it look like so much fun :3

dovachlys is one of 4 scions in a brood, each of them embodying some element of death. shes super old (like pre-Orr) and all of her siblings including zhaitan are now gone and dove is experiencing something akin to grief, if you could even call it that. she (likely) doesn’t experience compassion or love, but the absence of what she’s known for most of her life perturbs her still.

at this point in her long undeath she mostly just minds her own business, and has chosen this asuran form to more easily observe the world around her. she has an appreciation for insects, flowers, and the like, as she gets to watch their lifecycle unfold rapidly. :)

some more additional lore that I probably wont elaborate on super far rn but her siblings are:

• charotan: element of spirit
• zhagarun: element of sleep
• kaliklys: element of war/legacy

dove is also easily clockable as being off and she doesn’t try to hide it…for that reason she doesn’t interact directly with mortals often, and if she has to go into a crowded space she’ll don the whole cloak and hood get-up. there was one point where she made more of a concerted effort to blend in and maintain her asuran form (when she was chilling around the pact during zhaitan campaign), but after joko she’s found it easier to slip by unnoticed.

not to be nyrapilled on main but in a recent reblog i said that she doesn’t work for historical misogyny settings and i think part of the reason is her way of doing womanhood with combines:

• martial skills being expected of her regardless of her gender,
• ability to play a male archetype as a woman,
• bisexuality,
• her own expression being somewhat more “masculine,” but not to the level she would consider masc,
• all of the above being seen as normal or at the very least, a quirk as opposed to a flaw.

deny her any of these, make her fight for it, and she’s a different person. nyra’s a funky character like that where, if you change one (1) circumstance about her, she becomes a slightly different person. there’s a continuity, sure, but differences with her are felt more than they are with other ocs i’ve ported places.

this isn’t helped by her gw2 canon being as detailed and long as it is, and good job to anyone who’s able to piece it all together into anything coherent from the snippets from my brain. if she were a video game companion, she’d have a crapton of variables a la aeran from wayfarer!!!
