a customer who i recognized as having come in months ago he was watching me type today on the numberpad and asked what my wpm was. oh i havent tested it in maybe 14 years BUT im proud to say my record, which i certainly couldnt get close to now i stopped having a computer for over a decade and lost it big time, my record was 212wpm on typeracer. averaged 180 though. he was 😦 and then said you have a high IQ? whats your IQ? i said thats not real. its not a good measure of intelligence you know theres plenty of smart people who dont show well on an IQ test he said but youve been tested? yeah when i was 17. whatd you score? 144. wow. you have a good memory? i said yeah… are you recruiting me for something? he laughed and said no i just saw how fast you typed. another custo asked where the balance was on his paperwork i said it doesnt print with a new balance you just have to do the subtraction but give me that back ill do it and wrote 310.89 minus 150 equals 160.89 real quick without a calculator he was 🤯 and said yo are you really smart? and i recounted how amazed he was to my trainee and how simple of a thing he was amazed by its just 300 minus 150 which is an easy 150 then put the hanging 10.89 back on there for your nice fast calculation of 160.89 and she was like thats amazing you can do it fast. i hear you estimating percentages all the time and im like how is erin doing that mentally. like 4% of 1200 well 4% of 1000 is 40 and 200 is 1/5 of 1000 so whats a 1/5 of 40 its 8 so put that together for 48 and im bad at math. i did like the custo who was asking about my wpm i suspect he is himself sharp as hell english is not his first language he seems like somebody who knows like 5 languages but his line of questioning had me giggling. you type fast whats your wpm whats your iq how much do you weigh whats your fastest mile whats your shoe size
