I don’t think I’ve ever really talked about what happens to Frankie between the events of Fallout 3 and Fallout 4 on here. So here is a quick rundown:

Frankie works as a caravan guard for Blue Ridge Caravan Company a handful of months. She meets Aries (who I have ghoulified for my own story) and enjoys his weird friendship for a time but immediately bugs out when it feels like they are too close.

She then decides to head north. She’s unsure of why, but anywhere other than DC or the Blue Ridge routes sounds good. Frankie pays one last visit to Underworld in DC to say goodbye to her found family. Dr. Barrows in particular is pretty upset and insists that she sends letters to him frequently (which she does). He also makes her promise to come visit. She will eventually.

There are periods of time between leaving DC and arriving in Boston that she completely loses. Frankie attributes this to being sick or tired. This is not the case, and has more to do with the eldritch horror that hitched a trailer to Frankie at the Dunwich Building.

She eventually settles at Kingsport Lighthouse, mainly setting up on a boat docked there. But she also uses the lighthouse itself for radio stuff and will sleep there if weather is particularly bad. She keeps a few chickens in a large enclosure near the lighthouse as well.

Frankie kind of befriends Jack Cabot for a short period of time but he ruins that. Thanks for that, Jack.☺️

She tries to start up a combination electronics repairs/mercenary business in Diamond City, but is kicked out and banned for being a belligerent asshole. So she sets up nearby and sprays crude graffiti advertisements on the walls near the Diamond City entrance.

Finally Frankie meets up with MacCready after not seeing him for several years. He is very excited. She is aloof.

The bible verse referenced in the Lone Wanderer’s birth date drives me so crazy sometimes. It makes sense for the overall world, but to have that be the label to their birth is crazy.

One of my favourite dynamics in fallout 3 is that of Roy Philips and Mr. Burke. Out of everyone in the entirety of Tenpenny Tower, Burke is the only one Roy is willing to spare. There’s a level of respect for each other’s skills knowing it’s mutual destruction if they actually try to fight each other. Roy doesn’t want trouble in his new territory and clearly sees Burke as the bigger threat; backtracking when threatened and beginning to call Burke “Mr. Burke” after being told the plan to blow up Megaton. With Burke it’s a little harder to say for sure because his actual strength and backings aren’t fully revealed. I think he has a respect that almost borders onto admiration. What he wants to do isn’t that different to what the ghouls did to his own home; it’s a mild case of irony I’m sure isn’t lost on him.

Note that this is only fully the case with a Lone Wanderer that invaded Tenpenny Tower with the Ghouls before talking to Burke about the bomb. I feel some of it would still apply when Burke is the only the one Roy spares if the ghouls are let in passively; which is so dumb to me because Herbert is so much more ghoul-friendly than Burke.

It will always make me sad that everyone that loved the Lone Wanderer in any familial capacity all died by the time they’d turn 20. Their parents, Jonas, and Beatrice. Jonas especially gets me because regardless of the age-gap the Lone Wanderer truly saw him as a friend and potentially family (personally I like the idea of him being an older brother figure). With the parents it’s pretty obvious how upsetting it is, but I gotta say it’s crazy how the Lone Wanderer internalized their mother’s death as abandonment (from the PL Bobblehead). Beatrice just feels like that final nail in the coffin, her death being an accident and somehow the only casualty from Andy.

I’ve recently played through Fallout 3 with all of it’s dlcs for the first time and by the gods, Point Lookout was phenomenal.
Met a new fav ghoul character aswell, who’s lore at his wikipage made him incredibly interesting (more so, while he was already entertaining in the game).

I loved how Desmond kept his super seriousness next to those silly dialogue options I could go with.

Being a woman in a niche, male dominated fandom actually sucks. They’re all convinced my boyfriend introduced me to my favourite video game franchise, simply because I have a cl!t instead of balls. MY BOYFRIEND ISN’T EVEN A GAMER!!

It’s even worse now that it’s mainstream, because since I’m a woman, they all immediately assume I’m a new gen who only knows of it due to the release of the show. I’ve been a fan since I was 12.

End me. End me right now.
