I’ve just spent about a week with Pokopia and this game I thought was going to be like Animal Crossing but holy shit it’s not only better but depressing for a cozy game.

[[MORE]]Knowing the story now through the various hints and knowing these areas are the cities we loved in Kanto that are overgrown and decimated is heartbreaking. Sparkling Skylands is the most depressing to me because it’s just full of junk and it truly shows how far humanity has fallen. The fact that a hacker of the conservation project programmed the pokeballs in the computer to release the Pokémon into the wild after a certain period of time if humanity didn’t return after what is implied to be a number of decades since the humans left for space instead of letting the Pokémon perish says a lot. It explains the earlier behaviors of Pokémon who are confused where the humans went. I honestly almost cried getting to the last two areas realislzaing just how sad it was plus the music is phenominal. I mean I always wanted a Pokémon centric game like this…but not making me realize almost every Pokémon in the game is waking up or just had from stasis when we get them. Some woke up earlier lost and alone. This game is giving me feels I wasn’t expecting.

im learning alight motion. its annoying me but. here is my pokesona, squelching about as per usual.

I bought ditto plushes. Specifically bought the absol one so I could say it was a precursor to ditto-aster

Today, my daughter asked if we could “go to the card shop” because she’s been seeing me with all my newer pokemon cards, so we spent about an hour digging through the penny cards for “this one’s cute,” (which is always how it starts 😂) and left with a few cards a piece and a few stickers. Came home and let her rip a few Korean and Japanese packs that I had won from a Whatnot giveaway. Seeing her show off even the most “worthless” cards was so fun to see. No ditto cards, but still my little ditto is learning “copy.” :)
