I uploaded it to YouTube!! Here is my short 16min video of James Marsters and Juliet Landau chatting about their roles :)
Has anyone ever noticed that Angel is very misoginistic?
I think it’s the easiest to prove when comparing him to Spike. We see both of them with and without their souls after all…
I haven’t seen anyone mention it before but the comparison between Angelus and Spikes victims supports my theory that Angel hates women.
Because who are the most mentioned/known victims of Angelus?
Teenage, defensless girls that he became obsessed with, ruined their lives and t0rtured them to death.
Compare that to Spike who is known for killing slayers. Also women, but the strongest of them. The ones vampires are scared of.
Angelus loves to torment girls who have done nothing wrong and have no way of defending themselves while spike loves to overpower the strongest women in the world (and he gives them quick death, it’s not about causing pain).
Of course neither of them is good… but there is a big difference in what they are proud of and enjoy.
Another example would be that Halloween episode where Buffy dresses up as some lady from the past and later tells Angel that she wanted to see what it was like to be a girl he probably had a crush on in his youth.
His response? His “comforting” response? “I hated the girls back then” and then added something about all of them being idiots and Buffy being “not like other girls”.
Again, let’s compare that to Spike. Spike who, as a human, was brutally (she really didn’t need to be THAT cruel about it) rejected by a woman he was in love with and yet didn’t show any sign of resentment towards her. I know if he was Angelus he would’ve come back to ruin her life after he got turned. He did with Buffy and she loved him.
And yet, that never happens. He even meets her later on in the story (she became a demon) and there seems to be some fondness in their short interaction.
And my last example would be the fact that Angel “fell in love” with Buffy when she was 14. I really don’t understand how this isn’t an ick for so many people.
Because it’s the same as if Spike decided to fall in love with Dawn in s5. Just imagine it, if you think Angels and Buffys relatioship is okay.

James Marsters, AKA Spike posted this on his Instagram page! I swear, I did not think I would find myself waving my pom-poms in the back of the auditorium near the end there, see if you can spot me!
😅☺️
GET READY FOR A MONSTER OF A POST! (grrr Arghh!)
I had the immense pleasure of attending HELLMOUTHCON hosted at the one and only actual hellmouth, Torrance high school this past weekend! I donned my Sunnydale high school, cheer cheerleader attire, and for the second year in a row, SLAYED the hell mouth!
I did a lot of people watching, ate a ton of snacks, perused the sales floor, and bumped into a lot of faces I saw last year (Hey couple who for the second year in a row dressed up like Joyce and Giles and gave out mini band candies!)
My favorite time was spent listening to SPIKE AND DRUSILLA tell the tale of how they were cast into their AMAZING and ICONIC TV roles. That was about 45mins long and I recorded 18 of them lol if I can figure out a way to post that almost 20 minute long video, I will immediately do so!
But for now, please enjoy these pics from the con!

Your feelings for him are coloring your judgement. I can hear it in your voice. It doesn’t matter if you’re not physical with each other anymore. There’s a connection. You rely on him, he relies on you.
SPIKE & BUFFY in season 7
Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997 — 2003)
MICHELLE TRACHTENBERG as Dawn Summers
BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER (1997-2003)
I love to dance. I like music. I’m very into Britney Spears’ early work, before she sold out. So mostly her, um, finger painting and macaroni art. Very underrated. Favorite activities include not ever having to do this again, and uh… I also have a sister.
Todays brainrot is that so much good punk/emo music came out in 2004, and late 2003/early 2004 is the year after Spike dies so just like…imagine this.
Spike is dead, Dawn never talks about him.
Or at least, not at first. She doesn’t talk about much of anything after Sunnydale falls. She’s quiet, shellshocked, glad Buffy and the others made it out, but grieving what she has lost all the same. She lost her entire home. She lost someone she once considered a good friend. Joyce’s grave was back there too…
Buffy thinks she’s handling it all so well, that she’s well adjusted. But the truth is she’s just quiet about it, having learned to retreat into her inner world to process things. She doesn’t talk about Spike, but she does grieve him. Quietly. To herself. She doesn’t think the others would want to hear about it anyway.
As the year wears on and she and Buffy get settled, Dawn starts getting into some different music than she’s used to. Different genres. A little angrier. A little edgier. Maybe some Green Day, My Chemical Romance, Blink-182, Fall Out Boy, Sum 41, etc. She finds she likes the sound. Likes the words. Then slowly, that leads to older songs. She starts with the ones she’d heard Spike play or hum to himself and goes from there. She knew the Ramones were a favorite. Her music library ends up a mix of old and new. Entirely her, but tinged faintly with the memory of someone else. Her new tastes start to subtly (or not so subtly) reflect in her clothes as well and maybe even a few experiments with her hair.
Dawn doesn’t talk about Spike. Doesn’t openly grieve him. Nobody asks and she doesn’t tell. But she carries traces that are undeniably him. In her music, in her clothes. Her steel toed boots. It throws Buffy for a loop sometimes, jars her just a bit when she catches Dawn humming a certain song or sees the flair of the leather jackets Dawn occasionally wears out of the corner of her eye.
Her grief lies in her headphones, in the seams of her favorite jacket, in the posters on her walls. Dawn doesn’t talk about her grief, but wears it instead, makes it apart of herself.
THIS THIS THIS!!! A million times THIS.
I was around Dawns age when spike died on the show in 2003/2004. I was a freshman in high school and I was also into (and still am!!) into punk, pop punk, screamo and psychobilly music etc..
i can TOTALLY see this happening because, although everyone always hates on Dawn, she went through a lot and was always ignored. Why would this be any different for her??
Spike was her friend, mentor, babysitter/protector, tutor, and that whole summer when Buffy was “gone” he took care of her and was like a father-figure. She also never got to say “goodbye”. or make amends 4 telling him he was gonna wake up on fire.
Must hurt her alot.
I am re-blogging this in honor of Michelle Trachtenberg, may she rest in peace.
In the Buffyverse, Dawn was an annoying teenager. But as I have said before, I truly identified with her and her character’s story at that time in my life. I myself was about Dawn’s age when I started watching the show every week on TV.
Season 5 was the first season i ever watched of Buffy on the WB. They played so many commercials for the season premier that for all my 12/13 yr old brain knew, it was a new show! lol with it being the “last” season, i watch re-runs of S1 to 5 over the summer months. Once UPN picked the show up, every Tuesday at 8pm, i was locked in my room watching Spike and Dawn mourn Buffy
Now, I get to mourn Dawn. For reals. 😭

ALT22 years ago, Potential aired and confirmed the following:
Honestly, this entire episode is 100% Buffy making moon eyes at Spike. That anyone can watch it, watch her responding to him in this episode alone, and still claim that her interest is platonic needs to be studied because that is some grade-A self-delusion.
This is a Reylo crossover with The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood, one of the most compelling works of dystopian fiction I’ve ever read. I think the novel by Margaret Atwood should be read by everyone, especially women, but given current events, it’s amazing to consider this was written in the 1980s by a Canadian author! Maybe we haven’t been reduced to that point yet, but certainly the way she describes it happening is possible. You can also see the updated version on Hulu, or look for the 1992 movie with Natasha Richardson and Faye Dunaway.
Back to the fanfic take - I’ve been REALLY stoked to read this one! Some bits follow the book and some don’t. However, “Ofren” is Rey, the “Commander” is Kylo, and the “Wife” is…..PHASMA!!!! (I was sold at this point as far as subscribing.)
Even if you’re at your max on fictions you’re reading, please consider subscribing and bookmarking for later. She has already had to endure some trolls who targeted the story, but hopefully with comment moderation on that nonsense will be avoided. I’m glad she’s continuing to write despite the bullies. *I notice that any time the bullies attack, it’s usually a great author!
@milkshakes-and-murder - you will enjoy this one! @juuls, I think you would, too! Not sure who else is into Margaret Atwood….anyway, spread it around!
AUTHOR’S SUMMARY:
Born on the fringes of a dystopian dictatorship, Rey has lived most of her life in the shadows until desperation drives her into the hands of the government. Her unblemished womb is her only salvation, which leads to her being placed as a Handmaid in the household of Commander Kylo Ren and his infertile wife.
Her task? Produce a healthy child for the Commander, or be banished to a life of hardship and almost certain death.
A Reylo Handmaid’s Tale AU
the inherent comedy of btvs starting with a vampire who angsts constantly about being a vampire and turns not being able to be in the sun with Buffy into a whole big mopey thing and then a couple years later having another vampire date Buffy except he doesn’t give a fuck at all about those things lmaoooo. The sun? no problem, he just throws a ratty blanket over his head and runs when he’s out during the day. Zero angst about this from him, he makes do. The mortal/immortal thing never even crossed his mind as a problem, they’ll cross that bridge when they get to it. Can’t have kids? Why would he worry about giving something to Buffy that she never showed any interest in?
Spike is so funny, it never even occurred to him to angst about being in a vampire/human relationship, he literally doesn’t care at all. I love him.
Riley telling Buffy how “mysterious” she is and how that’s part of why he likes her, cause she’s a puzzle piece that needs to be put together, something intriguing cause it’s unknown. He doesn’t KNOW her or UNDERSTAND her. And this whole premise carries on throughout their whole relationship. What a contrast from Spike, who literally tells her that he doesn’t love her because she’s UNATTAINABLE, that it has nothing to do with HIM. “I love what you are. What you do. How you try. I’ve seen your kindness, and your strength. I’ve seen the best and the worst of you. And I understand, with perfect clarity, exactly what you are.”
He knows her!!! He sees her!!!! Flaws and all!!!!!!! And he loves her!!!!!!!!!

They don’t want a scientist who makes educated guesses. They want someone who sounds authoritative to confirm the assumptions that they already have.
I rarely post my face but #Hellmouthcon was amazing! I cosplayed as a cheerleader with my bestie who wore a wig! Haha got to meet #Drusilla #Darla #Glorificus and #HarmonyKendal!

One of the funniest things about enemies-to-lovers ships is how they’re almost always obsessed with each other. Like if a character actively chooses to interact with another character over and over again instead of simply ignoring them? Throw darts at it all you want, but you still printed out a picture of them to hang on your wall
“Throw darts at it all you want, but you still printed out a picture of them to hang on your wall.” - This is a raw line.
Lol #Spike and his #BuffyShrine lol 😂
Sometimes I forget just how absolutely BANGER STar Wars fic writers are. Yeah, we’re trapped in this hell fandom together, but you’re telling me I have approximately 30 novel-length fics I picked up just this week, that are not only cool concepts, but WELL-WRITTEN, TOO? Good characterization and emotionally resonant scenes and everything?? Goddamn, no wonder most of us can’t leave this hell pit, the fic is too good.
I love every single Fanfic writer out there.
