I remember Yellow
I roll over, death grip on my lived in duvet
like someone w i l l rip it from me
Barely awake, bone tired
With last night’s dream hovering in some near - far place
I blink my eyes
stretch my fingers W I D E until the little bits of skin in-between
Feel taut like a rubber band

Snap it shut as if to blare:
Fresh start to a new day!
In that sugar plum voice of screeching tires
The oils in my hair three days old
The groan comes twofold in my head
