Imagine Loving Her
Our first album Those Left Behind was, in its original form, something that remember an EP. When it was released, it consisted of four tracks. However, the Changer series had already begun, Part 1 Borrowed Skin had been released, and it was decided that the series would continue. What followed was inevitable. Three more tracks were added to the album. Parts 2 and 3 of the Changer series, and an extension of the third part. These three additional tracks turned our first collective release from an EP into a full album.
To be completely honest, when we finished this album, there was no specific song we anticipated would stand out. Yet in a short time, one track emerged from the other six and began to shine: Unbroken Loop.
Unbroken Loop speaks through the words of a narrator who exists within the story but whose identity is never revealed. It describes the central figure of the narrative, the exceptional character known as Changer. It tells of what he makes six hearts do, and of the counsel he gives.
When Unbroken Loop managed to rise above all the other tracks, including Those Left Behind, the song that gave the album its name, it naturally became our favorite as well.
On the other hand, due to a coincidence we cannot explain here, the meaning of this song suddenly changed for us, gaining far greater value.
When it came time for the album following Those Left Behind, before we even rolled up our sleeves, it was already known by everyone that this would not be a concept album. Thus None of Them emerged, built piece by piece, with nearly every song focusing on subjects independent from one another.
While designing this album, it was conceived as a continuous, uninterrupted flow. It began with an overture and concluded with a maximus. We set out with Break Through The Tide and Spark is Caught. In fact, Spark is Caught managed to inspire a precursor track at the very moment of its release. We are, of course, referring to What Will Definitely Not Happen.
There are two reasons for sharing all of this with you, even though doing so has meant revisiting a few details we have already explained before.
The first is that all of these developments up to this point have been shaped primarily by Brittle Ghost.
The second is the real reason.
Have you ever noticed? Surely some of you have. The second album, None of Them, is not only gapless, but also points toward an infinite loop.
If you open the album on any platform or player and enable the command that makes it restart as soon as it ends, the final track, Maximus, gently fades into the stretching opening melody of Those Left Behind. Then, just as softly, the overture begins, emerging from the final piano melody of Maximus.
This represents a loop that begins after Those Left Behind.
Which loop do you think it is?
Of course, Unbroken Loop.
“If you love something, I will make flowers bloom inside it.”
