I have to belive, in my heart of hearts, that there’s a DBZ universe out there where the androids get their hands on Bulma’s time machine and use it to just….go back in time and hang out. They’ve got nothing left to prove (to themselves or the world), no fight could be challenging enough to be fun, they honestly don’t have much fun fighting in the first place. They go back in time to like….early Z days, blow all of Giro’s shit up (because FUCK that guy, regardless), and just. Try to find something worth doing, something fun. I don’t know what the next thing they do is, but I know it ends with 18 and Launch falling in love and 17 getting either a little shit kid to look after or one hell of a hobby. or both. Like the end goal here is PTA dad 17 having a baking training arc so he can have better cream puffs then that bitch Bette who’s daughter is cheer captain and said that his kid was too scrawny to be a cheerleader even though they are perfectly strong thank you, but killing her is the BORING way out so instead he ends up getting like way too good at baking. He wants to go fishing with his kid so he gets into boating, which ends up being real helpful when Lauch and 18 need to take a vacation to international waters. The twins are lowkey codependent and start getting twitchy if they go more then like a few days without seeing each other- they’ve been each other’s only companions for years.
18 needs people to stay engaged and happy with the world, thus launch; 17 needs more time to himself to recharge, thus several dozen hobbies and a kid that spends most of it’s time at school. 17 also probably isn’t, like, the best dad. for the record. He is trying but his empathy is a decade atrophied and he was god two years ago, so it’s a slow process. Gotta figure out who this kid is. If all else fails, maybe one of Gohan’s little highschool buddies? Anyway, 18 and Launch are either notorious mercenaries or the personal body guards of some big king pin criminal guy. 18 probably eventually starts doing online college as a side thing to keep her brain occupied.
Trunks does still come back to warn them all about cell, and OtherFuture Cell is still here from his pod, so a lot of the same things happen except everyone is extra confused. Like the androids don’t show up when Trunks said they would- not even 19 and 20- so Trunks freaks out because what does this mean what nefarious corner could they be off planning in (smash cut to 17 at some kids birthday party and 18 having to rescue a kidnapped Launch very S&D ‘were those walls red when I came in it seems an odd choice of color’ style). But Goku does still have his heart attack, and OtherFutureCell does start eating cities, and no one but Trunks even knows what 17 & 18 look like so we could have a fun dramatic irony meet cute moment (like, with Tien checking in on launch or something). So the Z fighters are looking for the androids but that’s second priority to getting rid of whatever the hell bug man cell is, and the Androids are just kinda…..hanging out, unaware that all of the other 'most powerful people’ in the world are looking for them, because they aren’t looking for Goku. So like….I don’t know what they do instead. Unfortunately, I’ll probably have to actually watch dragon ball again for that one.
(the Lapis and Lazuli from this timeline hadn’t even been taken by Giro yet, so they’re out living their best lives. Going to college or something.)

If I was somehow reincarnated in db, either as a new oc or someone from the canon cast, am I the only one who first things first would try to protect 17 and 18 and, idk, the other people who were kidnapped by Gero?
