I have never watched a mr beast video and every time I see his face doing that weird dead smile he does in every thumbnail, it just looks like that one photo of charlie from always sunny to me

i don’t understand, are they supposed to get nicer or just less bruised up?

the Knives Out filmmaking is fucking genius because it doesn’t hide ANY of the murder mystery details that get revealed later on. The blood stain is ALWAYS on Marta’s shoes. You can see Miles hand Duke his glass, take his gun and hide it. You see Blanc hand Helen the Klear. You hear the ‘clangy clunk’ of Jud hiding the flask in the first scene of Wicks’s murder. You notice it all after it’s revealed. It’s not added in in the reveal scene. All of the clues are always there, you just DON’T SEE THEM. It just makes it feel so much more real.
The thing is Armand Goldman sold his beautiful cemetery plot in Key Biscayne for one next to Albert in that shithole Los Copa so he never misses a laugh
the duality of man is Ilya Rozanov being simultaneously so straight passing that Shane Hollander could own up to being in love with him and have people assume it’s an unrequited crush, yet so visibly queer that in 66% of instances where Scott Hunter came out to people prior to the on-ice kiss, they immediately assumed he was dating Rozanov
Robby saw Dennis deepthroating a hot dog and thought “yeah I HAVE to get him away from that girl and into my house.”
can’t stop thinking abt shane getting an autism diagnosis and being scared to tell ilya and then the conversation going very similarly to when shane told ilya he was gay bc ilya is sitting there like
???? yes ??? this is not news ???? did you not know this ????
When the Tuna Meltdown goes down it is clearly still light outside (in Boston in November). So given how early it is and given how hockey players have to eat during the season I feel like it’s safe to assume the tuna melts were a snack and not actually dinner.
Which means Ilya definitely also had things in his house for dinner and breakfast which were then just haunting his fridge with the rest of the ginger ales.
shane hollander rocks because in so many ways he gives the vibe of someone who’s been living in his parents basement his whole adult life but he’s actually a wildly successful athlete and a massive massive whore
autistic adults (yes, even ones with high support needs) deserve medical autonomy and the freedom to explore romantic and sexual relationships.
this episode showed becca advocating for herself successfully. she demanded honest communication that made sense to her (not falsely minimizing the time frames for when her case will be revisited). she asked for her medication to be administered to her in her preferred way (crushed pills). she maintained her right to privacy until she was sure she wanted to speak about it with her sister.
i’m happy they’re showing becca as an adult with romantic connections, coping strategies, and self advocacy skills. it’s something a lot of shows fail at. they either portray autistic people who don’t require many accommodations as a way to justify autistic people’s existence or they infantilize them as these people that are almost forever children. as always, applauding the pitt for the levels of nuance they give marginalized groups in a society that rewards flat characters that are non-challenging.
and if anyone gave beautiful empathetic genius doctor samira mohan an crumb of the attention and grace and mentorship everyone in da pitt gives Whitaker for being white and sad she would be the best doctor there but dr Robby hates women.

robby can lash out in self-hatred and be a misogynist at the same time. robby can be written to be purposefully hypocritical and incidentally misogynistic at the same time. robby can be suffering from ptsd and be a misogynist at the same time. “actually the point is he’s lashing out because he sees himself in samira and hates it” correct. AND he’s being misogynistic while he’s at it
When Yuna has her “no son(in law) of mine will have inferior brand deals and management” takeover shortly after she learns about Shane and Ilya, how long do you think it takes her to figure out his money situation with his family?
I’m imagining her/maybe Shane playfully ribbing him about how he has no real financial manger or decent investments and what do you MEAN you just let a paycheck like that sit in your account while buying luxury cars every five minutes no wonder your net worth is shockingly low for your value, etc etc. and he’s not even offended he’s surprised and pleased that his new family is so invested in him and also enjoys watching where Shane gets some of his crazy. Like Ilya Mommy Issues Rozanov is “yes please ma’am optimize my finances and worry about my wellbeing harder” while he shovels whatever David made for dinner in his mouth.
But then at some point while she’s (lovingly) harping on his financial irresponsibility he just kind of quietly mentions that actually so much of his paycheck was going back home to his family when he was younger that he needed to blow shit on cars or whatever pretty quick if he didn’t want it to disappear. And she realizes that yeah he’s a little dummy who spent a concerning amount of money on VIP sections last year and thinks bank account interest is investing but he was also a child supporting his entire family in a foreign country with no one bothering to look out for his best interest or explain planning for a future.
David gets treated to impassioned rants every night about how “David I’m not convinced anyone even read that boy his contract in Russian”.
She starts managing him as well, obviously, and she’s kind of disturbed by how easily he just signs whatever she puts in front of him and doesn’t bother asking questions before agreeing to hand over all his management to her. He just seems thrilled she got him a Lamborghini partnership and an invite to fashion week.
The only time he puts up a fuss is when he realizes she’s not planning to take any significant cut of his money because “you’re family sweetheart” and he looks like he got smacked in the head with a shovel and has to go outside on the porch with Shane for a suspiciously long period of time.
Just to make sure it’s not suspicious that Yuna Hollander is now managing Ilya Rozanov she takes on a few more clients too. And if she specializes in managing rookies with no support network or active language barriers then that’s just a coincidence.
robby berating mohan for letting the personal bleed into the professional and wasting time and money in the same episode he brings in his own old white man personal friend to get a “full work up” on a holiday weekend in a chaotic ER reduced to paper charting. oh ok I’m sure.
Yeah, I mean, I think the people saying that Robby is trying to divide his affections and aspirations more evenly on the Pittlings, rather than put everything on one person again, definitely have a point (he gives Javadi the space to break free from her parents’ hold, he encourages Santos to listen to her gut, he tries to boost Mel’s confidence), but the dynamic he has with Whitaker seems more complicated. There is something almost pygmalion-esque about their relationship.
Obviously Whitaker idolizes Robby (or is “enamored with him”, as Gerran says), but increasingly I’m starting to think that Robby idolizes Whitaker a lot more than Whitaker idolizes Robby. Whitaker is fairly forgiving of other people’s flaws, but I think at the end of the day he still SEES them. I don’t think he believes Robby is perfect. He’s already seen Robby break down, he’s seen Robby lash out, and follows him anyway.
But I’m not sure Robby fully understands that Whitaker cannot possibly be perfect either. And to be fair, the audience also hasn’t really seen Whitaker fuck up in a major way either. We haven’t seen him break down. But I think it’s inevitable that something or someone is going to break him eventually. I don’t know if we’ll see it happen in Season 2, but I do want to see how it will affect his and Robby’s relationship when it does.
