If David Harbour was cast in Game of Thrones / House of the Dragon / an ASOIAF spin-off, where should their character hail from? Imagine you are the casting director for HBO.

The Wall & Beyond the Wall

The North

The Riverlands

The Vale

The Crownlands (King’s Landing) & The Westerlands

The Stormlands & Dragonstone

The Reach & Oldtown

Dorne

The Iron Islands

Essos: The Free Cities

Essos: Slaver’s Bay & the Outer East (Asshai, Yi Ti, Qarth, etc)

I have a unique answer to this

If you need a guide for making a choice (read below):

1. The Wall & Beyond the Wall – A massive wall of ice stretches across the northern border of the continent. It is defended by the Night’s Watch, a sworn brotherhood made up of volunteers and criminals who give up their former lives to serve for life. Their jobs include guarding the Wall, scouting in the wilderness, and maintaining the fortresses along it. Beyond the Wall lies frozen wilderness of forests, tundra, and mountains. There, the Free Folk (often called wildlings) live in clans without lords or kings, surviving through hunting, raiding, or trading. Giants and other strange creatures also live in the far north.

Key Characters: Jon Snow, Samwell Tarly, Mance Rayder, Tormund Giantsbane.

/

/

/

2. The North – The largest and coldest region of Westeros, ruled from Winterfell, a great stone castle in the center of the North. This is the land of the Stark family, one of the most important noble houses. The North is full of forests, tundra, and long stretches of snowy wilderness. It is sparsely populated, with mountain clans, coastal fishing villages, and marsh-dwelling families. People here are known for being serious, loyal, and bound by old traditions.

Key Characters: Eddard (Ned) Stark, Catelyn Stark, Robb Stark, Sansa Stark, Arya Stark, Bran Stark, Rickon Stark.

/

/

/

3. The Riverlands – A fertile region of rivers, farmland, and castles located at the center of Westeros, ruled from Riverrun by House Tully. Because of its central location, invading armies almost always march through here, leaving the countryside exposed to destruction. The Riverlands are dotted with smaller castles, villages, and farms, as well as inns and mills that rely on the rivers.

Key Characters: Catelyn Stark (born Tully), Brynden “Blackfish” Tully, Walder Frey, Edmure Tully.

/

/

/

4. The Vale – A mountainous, wealthy land ruled from the Eyrie, a castle perched high in the mountains and considered almost impossible to capture. The Vale has fertile valleys, but its people are largely cut off from the rest of the continent by its steep mountain passes. Many of its nobles are proud of their ancient bloodlines. The Vale is also home to mountain clans, small groups of raiders who live outside noble control in the high passes.

Key Characters: Lysa Arryn, Robin Arryn, Petyr “Littlefinger” Baelish.

/

/

/

5. The Crownlands (King’s Landing) & The Westerlands – King’s Landing is the capital of Westeros, the largest city in the realm, and the seat of the Iron Throne, where the king rules. It is crowded with nobles, merchants, guards, commoners, and beggars. The city is known for its mix of wealth and poverty, political intrigue, and frequent unrest. To the west lie the Westerlands, ruled from the fortress of Casterly Rock by House Lannister, the richest family in the realm. Their wealth comes from gold mines, and they use it to fund armies and influence politics in King’s Landing.

Key Characters: Tyrion Lannister, Jaime Lannister, Cersei Lannister, Tywin Lannister, Joffrey Baratheon.

/

/

/

6. The Stormlands & Dragonstone – The Stormlands are coastal lands constantly battered by violent storms, ruled from Storm’s End, a huge fortress famous for its strong walls. The people here are tough and battle-hardened. Just offshore lies Dragonstone, a volcanic island with a black-stone castle carved into the shapes of dragons. Dragonstone was once the seat of House Targaryen, the former royal family who conquered Westeros with dragons centuries ago.

Key Characters: Stannis Baratheon, Renly Baratheon, Davos Seaworth, Melisandre.

/

/

/

7. The Reach and Oldtown – A rich and heavily populated region ruled from Highgarden by House Tyrell. It is known as the “breadbasket” of Westeros because its fertile lands and vineyards produce much of the realm’s food and wine. The Reach is also famous for its knights, who value pageantry and tournaments. Oldtown, one of the oldest and largest cities in Westeros, is a major port and home to the Citadel. The Citadel is a school and headquarters where maesters—educated men who serve as healers, teachers, and advisors to noble families—are trained.

Key Characters: Margaery Tyrell, Olenna Tyrell, Loras Tyrell, Samwell Tarly (at the Citadel).

/

/

/

8. Dorne – The southernmost region of Westeros, ruled from Sunspear by House Martell. It is a hot, arid land of deserts, mountains, and coasts along the Summer Sea. Its culture and laws are different from the rest of the realm, partly due to its Rhoynish ancestry (a people who migrated from a distant river kingdom). In Dorne, women can inherit titles the same as men, and attitudes about sexuality and marriage are more relaxed compared to the rest of Westeros.

Key Characters: Oberyn Martell, Doran Martell, Ellaria Sand, the Sand Snakes (Obara, Nymeria, Tyene).

/

/

/

9. The Iron Islands – A group of rocky islands off the western coast, ruled from Pyke by House Greyjoy. Farming is poor here, so the islanders survive mostly through fishing and raiding the mainland. Their society is built around seafaring and a religion dedicated to the Drowned God, which teaches that “what is dead may never die.” This faith emphasizes drowning as a ritual and glorifies taking wealth by force rather than working the land.

Key Characters: Balon Greyjoy, Theon Greyjoy, Asha/Yara Greyjoy, Euron Greyjoy.

/

/

/

10. Essos: The Free Cities – Across the Narrow Sea lies Essos, a vast continent of independent city-states. Each city has its own culture: Braavos is known for trade, banking, and a secret guild of assassins called the Faceless Men; Pentos is ruled by wealthy merchant princes; Volantis is an ancient port with large temples and a reliance on slavery. The Free Cities are filled with mercenaries, sailors, traders, and exiles from Westeros.

Key Characters: Arya Stark (in Braavos), Tyrion Lannister (in exile), Jorah Mormont, Illyrio Mopatis.

/

/

/

11. Essos: Slaver’s Bay & the Outer East – Farther east along Essos lies Slaver’s Bay, home to the cities of Astapor, Yunkai, and Meereen. These cities are built on slavery, with ruling families owning large numbers of slaves. Astapor is also known for training the Unsullied, soldiers who are taken as boys and brutally trained into an elite army. Beyond Slaver’s Bay are the grassy plains of the Dothraki Sea, where the nomadic Dothraki horse-lords live in mobile camps, raiding and trading across the land. Even farther east lies Qarth, a wealthy trading city, and Asshai, a mysterious port associated with dark magic and shadowy practices.

Key Characters: Daenerys Targaryen, Jorah Mormont, Daario Naharis, Khal Drogo, Missandei, Grey Worm.

Tonight is the night of the Academy Awards. I am interested in acting, film, cinema, theatre. Always have been, though I never pursued a career as an actor, because I have a physical disability, a chronic illness and cannot memorize a lot of text. I did do a bit of acting in a hobby (in larping and pen & paper roleplaying). I have also written some novels in German about actors.

So I am interested in what kind of research actors put into their work, how they prepare themselves and for their roles and what kind of acting methods they use. Over the years, I have listened to several interviews about this.

A few days ago, I came across an interesting video where the acting styles and choices of Timothée Chalamet and Jacob Elordi get compared. Both are currently nominated for an Academy award: Timothée for the lead role in „Marty Supreme“, Jacob as best supporting actor in „Frankenstein“.

The YouTuber comes to the conclusion that Jacob Elordi is not only the better actor, but also willing to take risks. For instance: Instead of letting himself be typecast as the heartthrob over and over again, he played a violent and abusive guy in “Euphoria”, a not so likeable Elvis Presley in „Priscilla“ and got himself transformed completely in Guillermo del Toro’s „Frankenstein“, to the point of being unrecognizable (and ugly), and also moving quite differently than an average human being, studying the movements of his dog and the traditional dancing art form „Butoh“ from Japan for preparation.

Whereas Timothée Chalamet plays it safe with his choices of roles, playing mostly likeable characters, but with a limited acting range, according to Cine Kraft.

Have to admit, since I watched that video, I have lost significant interest in watching films with Timothée Chalamet, and I am curious what new projects Jacob Elordi will choose.

Btw, I am not happy about Jacob being cast in “Wuthering Heights”. The film has gotten quite a bit of criticism, one point being that Heathcliff has (yet again) been whitewashed with this casting choice.

The mentioned video by Cine Kraft:

A couple weeks back I decided to watch one of Crispin Freeman’s Livestream signings because I’ve been a fan since his role as Togusa in the first “Ghost in the Shell” anime series. I honestly didn’t have any plans to get a autograph because money was tight and I thought I should get an idea of what to expect before I went ahead and did it later on.

I understand right now that he has medical issues that prevent him from being able to attend conventions–the specifics of which I’m still not sure about – yet he dedicated his time and energy to giving fans an opportunity to have signings and interactions via Instagram. He even replied to questions and remarks made by people who didn’t purchase anything, like when he complimented someone for a Snoopy sticker and I mentioned he was my first stuffie, which he read and responded to with a story of the one he had.

It was mostly fun, but I felt bad for the unnecessary mount of stress caused by impossible requests, last minute changes to the personalization, and at least one person who couldn’t even understand why he needed to apologize for his behavior that left the poor actor feeling exploited and taking up time that could have been spent on autographs a chit chats with other fans, and continued to be a thorn in this way to the point of being banned.

You have to treat these online things like you’re at a real op, panel, or table. You have to be considerate of the talents and other fans– stop trying to hog all of the time and attention for yourself and make the talent feel like they’re expected to work like a robot or grant every wish no matter how crazy like a genie, especially when they are contending with health issues.

Guys, 20+ years ago you could only write letters to talents you admire and hope it made it to them. They probably did read letters but either didn’t have time to write back or the fan moved and didn’t have that return address anymore. Doing everything by snail mail was difficult, slow, and more often than not impossible.

But now we’re in a time when we can actually have so many awesome, instant, and even casual conversations with stars. Like Darude and I talked about noxious perfumes vs BO on Threads, for one example. It’s amazing that we can be so easily connected to them like we’re just family at a BBQ or something. Like, Brad Swaile and I talked more about our kids than about anime lol.

But anyway, but for people like Crispin the digital table is all we have, so I beg you all to just not ruin his will to do any more of them due to rudeness and overload. Keep it simple, be polite, be grateful, apologize when an apology is owed. Treat others the way you would want to be treated, overall, and that includes actors because fame does not make them less or more human than the rest of us.

NO TAIL TO TELL ⋆˚꩜

𝄞⨾𓍢𓃦⋆˙⟡ NO TAIL TO TELL [2026]
⤿ Fantasy rom-com

⊹ ࣪ ˖ RATING: 7/10
⤿ It might be a tad bit generous but let me explain:

𝄞⨾𓍢𓃦⋆˙⟡ PRODUCTION

I’ve been waiting for this drama since it first got announced, and i’ve been a big fan of Kim Hye Yoon since Extraordinary You (another amazing drama) and even Park Solomon since Revenge Of Others (also another great watch) so I was excited to see them paired together although I was a bit skeptical about their chemistry.

However, I was still planning on watching and I did.

The drama is notable for it’s quite ‘cheap’ looking production if i’m honest, the special effects weren’t realistic at all but honestly I don’t mind since it does have comedic elements and it wasn’t a complete eyesore to look at although drawing closer to the end - there was a specific scene involving Geum-ho and Do-cheol where he took her powers and the way they portrayed that scene was genuinely really poorly done.

I also didn’t notice this until I saw other reviews but this drama used a lot of unnecessary sound effects, which once you notice, it’s hard to ignore.

𝄞⨾𓍢𓃦⋆˙⟡ FEMALE AND MALE LEAD

For Eun-ho’s character, i’ve seen her get a lot of criticism - for me , I quite liked her character. She was quite mean and a bit spoiled a lot of the times BUT she also had some incredibly cute moments. I don’t know how to feel about the ending in all honesty, but I do feel like it was fitting that she stuck to being a gumiho.

I adore her styling and her acting was great in this drama. I enjoyed her backstory too despite hating historical themes in a lot of kdramas, it was definitely really cool to hear about the lore of gumiho’s and how they orignated.

Si Yeol started off as quite an arrogant football player, very strict with his team and cocky but after having his life switched. He genuinely became a really heartwarming guy. I adored his gentleness with Eun-ho especially in this scene;

The way he didn’t care that she didn’t make a profit and immediately went comfort her. I died.

And I think that’s one of the reasons why I rated this kdrama a 7.

𝄞⨾𓍢𓃦⋆˙⟡ THE RELATIONSHIP

They were genuinely so cute, I have no complaints. When she asked him to date her because she’s never experienced a relationship before, kicking my feet and giggling. When he fed her after they went hiking, kicking my feet and giggling. When they were playing around while helping out at the hospital, kicking my feet and giggling.

So adorable.

⊹ ࣪ ˖ If you’re looking for a lighthearted comedic watch, go for it! it’s only 12 episodes and i don’t think you’ll regret it but if you choose not to, you aren’t missing out on much.

⤿ All my opinion, if you don’t agree that’s fine — but be nice!
