Checking to see what my most Kudos-ed fics have been, and I cringe in pain a bit at Presage Points because it got so much attention in so few chapters then I kinda lost the thread. Maybe I should re-awaken it.
Then I remember that Those With Ruinous Envy is longer than like Twilight. It’s the only long fic I’ve completed at this point lol.
Not shown here but I’m kind of proud of my The Secret History fics too. They did well for one-shots and got some of my favorite comments I’ve ever received. 🥹

It really depends on what’s in this house and what the conditions are, but I’ve noticed that a lot of difficult or abusive experiences connected to the third house can go unnoticed or minimized. These are extreme examples, so I don’t expect everyone to resonate with all of them, but I’ve read charts where heavy 3rd house emphasis showed intense bullying or harassment during elementary school. I’ve also seen cases where women experienced stalking, obsession, or boundary violations from people in close proximity: neighbors, relatives like cousins, or even teachers especially when other indicators in the chart support it.
There can also be serious betrayals between friends here, some of which are genuinely life-altering. Abuse isn’t a defining trait of the third house on its own, but it’s worth mentioning because a lot of harm can occur in 3rd house settings. What often stands out to me is how easily that harm gets “lost in the shuffle.” It’s not that the trauma isn’t real, it’s that it’s often treated as small, normal, or not serious enough, which can leave it unaddressed and unrecognized for a long time. A lot of miscommunication happens in this house as well so unfortunately people might not be believed when it comes to their trauma.
Part of why 3rd house harm gets overlooked is because it happens in places we’re taught to see as harmless or normal like in school hallways, family gatherings, the neighborhood, daily conversations. It’s not always “dramatic”. It looks like “just words,” “just jokes,” or “just people you have to deal with.” Over time, that repetition is what makes it damaging.

Quando me falavam que amor era calma, eu concordava cegamente. Para mim fazia sentido, mesmo que minha experiência não combinasse com aquilo. Eu tinha uma ideal de relacionamento e de amor que nunca tinha experimentado, algo que me parecia tão distante da realidade que eu nem almejava. Em certo ponto juro que pensei que era só uma desculpa esfarrapada pra não me deixar sentir coisas, algo pra me basear ao dar fora em caras legais. Um motivo plausível pra dizer não pra experiências que, de alguma forma, não me agradavam. Em um outro momento de minha jornada também cheguei a questionar se meu padrão não estava alto demais, se eu não morreria sozinho e sem ter algo sério com ninguém. Me perguntei muito se o problema não seria eu. E depois de muito bater a cabeça na parede, consegui um relacionamento que me parece perfeito. A pessoa quem eu escolhi dá check em todas as caixinhas, se encaixa perfeitamente em mim e me faz feliz. Ela chegou aos poucos e mudou minha vida, me transformou em dois e eu não sei como ela conseguiu isso. Hoje, perdidamente apaixonado, ainda me pergunto quando isso vai dar errado, quando as flores vão murchar e os elogios vão ficar escassos. Me pergunto em que momento vamos nos desentender ou enjoar um do outro. Eu me pergunto onde vamos dar errado porque é tudo o que eu conheço. E sei que é só a ansiedade cumprindo seu papel, mas busco todos os dias me permitir amar e ser feliz.

I’ve seen other people mention this, and as much as I love Jeritza, please don’t make him literally be Dietrich. It’s probably the lamest thing you can do. I don’t want a Zeke/Camus/Sirius situation.
Dietrich has the same personal skill as Jeritza + most likely has the Death Knight class (he’s a lvl 37? myrmidon which is kinda sus) but yeah, he does not need to be Jeritza with amnesia or something.

Edelgard’s stated mission objective is dismantling caste-based feudalism, which is in my opinion a pretty bad system. The Church and the Blue Jesus Freaks want to uphold that system, and Claude is off doing whatever the fuck. Obviously one can question Edelgard’s method of major upheaval via aggressing a continent-wide war, but her values politically are probably much more aligned with your typical modern player than the alternative. There’s a reason why in every arc but her own they have to turn her into the Oogly Boogly Man.
It’s also telling that there’s a character (Lysithea) for whom it makes more sense narratively that she defects to Edelgard’s side than stick with her own.
I really need to chug through the rest of the arcs. (I’ve only actually played Black Eagles to the end, which might be obvious given my response to this question.) I’ll be honest though, while I like Three Houses’ story and characters, it is a slog gameplaywise, which really nukes the replayability for me – and this is as someone who has replayed most other FEs 5-10+ times each. Three Houses is basically “Fire Emblem with deemphasized Fire Emblem gameplay.” 50 percent of the game is doing the monastery stuff, and though it’s possible to skip it, the gameplay is not really designed around you actually doing that the way most of the Somnium stuff can be skipped in Engage.
