Oh! what an exquisite combination of chocolate-covered caramels, peanut brittle, and opera creams.
This, along with the macaroni cheese, has restored me wonderfully.

English-style collar in sand-colored cloth.
This collar, crafted from sand-colored cloth, is lined with iridescent taffeta; vertical rows of topstitching in the same sand-colored cloth are applied to the collar. Running lengthwise beneath these stitched rows is a bias-cut strip of cloth—topstitched four times and measuring 2.5 centimeters in width—which covers the upper edge of the ruffle. The vertical cloth strips extend down onto the ruffle, terminating in pointed tips, each adorned with two mother-of-pearl buttons. The high-standing collar features three vertical slits; the collar fastens at the front with a tab fitted with two buttonholes. A hat of coarse sand-colored straw, featuring a crown of sand-colored silk, is trimmed with ostrich plumes of the same shade.

L'Art et la mode, no. 8, vol. 19, 19 février 1898, Paris. Au bord de la rivière. — Dessin d'E. Debat-Ponsan. Bibliothèque nationale de France
18 February 1898.
It struck me to-day that in my urging to D, that all should be recorded (for I fear the loss of memories entirely when we begin to remove them), that I should follow my own advice. It may be prudent for future success to have all events written down.
Thus far, I have dissected both hearts—the Count’s, and the one of a man in Bukovina he obtained for me. There was less difference between them than I expected, and I cannot doubt but that these differences may be only in that they come from two separate sources. Alas! Were there a human variant of the Count’s heart, it would be an easier task to compare. Yet giving back to him his humanity is the entire purpose; it is folly to desire the solution in order to analyse the problem.
It is too annoying to me, so in the mean time I have turned to another task. D has grown weary of my prodding him with the needle (neither of us possess the desire to sit still for long), so I have taken to the work of reproducing his blood—much as his heart. My attention, at this time, is directed toward constructing a small electrical machine, which shall do the reproduction for me, that I have a constant and plentiful supply. This will doubtless be exceedingly useful to us as our work continues.
D is calling now for supper. I have no appetite, yet the delightful scent of his roast chicken allures me…
Forgive me for one moment, I believe that there is a coloured ink here…
Yes, excellent! I am now to write as colourful as you.
Das ist in Ordnung, aber dann werde ich nach deinem Abendessen nicht lange bleiben. Ich werde selbst noch etwas essen müssen.

Armand Peugeot produced his first prototype car as early as 1880 and in 1891 produced a batch of five cars each slightly different from the rest. He had been in contact with Gottlieb Daimler and Emile Levassor and formed a collaboration to produce cars with a Daimler patent engine, produced by Panhard Levassor under licence.
By 1895 he had decided to go his own way, tiring of the family firm he founded SA des Peugeot at uAdincourt in 1897 then in Paris from 1900. The new company produced 323 in 1899 and 500 in 1900. The light cars had rear mounted engines, while the heavier cars had their engines under the front seat. By 1902 the designs were modernised by Louis Delage, who remained with the company until 1905
Peugeot ended its Daimler partnership and produced their first in-house engine for this car, made in their recently built Audincourt factory. Their transversely mounted flat-twin was a departure from this prior foreign-made V-twin engine. The Peugeot Type 15 has a horizontal 8hp twin-cylinder engine displacing approximately 2.2 litres, which drives via four-speeds-plus-reverse gearbox, making it an advanced design for the day. It also has an early form of governor-controlled ‘cruise control’, with hot tub ignition
This car was delivered new to its first owner a resident of the Muriac region of France, on the 16th July 1898 The Peugeot must have been well cared-for during its early life and subsequent storage, as by the 1950s, when the car came into the possession of the Museo di Rodo at Uzès in the Gard department of southern France, it was complete and un-restored. When the museum closed in the 1980s, It then came to England selling at a London auction, it was then comprehensively restored retaining most of its original parts, and in more recent times has been a regular entrant in the annual London to Brighton Veteran Vehicle run, as well as a winner of the Regents Street concours.
