Statues were a sign that what you did was important enough to be remembered after your death,I think that brings one closer to being a god than any other thing.
Religion imposes the image of Gods and immortality through concepts, tales and ideas but concepts get manipulated, tales get distorted and ideas are forgotten, the final image changes with time to a ruler’s desire.
Statues in older times, were,in my opinion, more truthful than any god, even if the people depicted in the statues were human, thanks to the fact that a statue could not be destroyed,it was an unmovable reminder of that person, its teachings, and their importance in the daily life of people.
Because when you don’t measure something,it’s almost as if that thing never existed
A bit forward, now, bigger forces appeared, and now,all it takes is a few days to dispose of an ancient figure,it’s public image and interaction.Meaning, there is no god in this system, physical nor spiritual, if the statue(true image of a person) doesnt challenge time and decay, then it is the same as any person by your side.
They will also experience things that any human will experience, naturally, and that reminds the average person that if the current “greater” power can dispose of a greater image of anybody, what is the worth of the actual person,of you, yourself. What ensures a permanence of your worthy creations,if you manage to do something worth to admire countless times with your life dedication, what will you leave behind, how can you ensure your life is gonna be more than just a life?
When we look back to old tales they are mostly distorted and if they arent theres a high chance the original meaning of the tale is lost in the current times or currently in the state of being forgotten, but, when we look at old statues, runes and scriptures written in stone,we can get an image, an idea, a fact that X was here Y year and they did Z achievement and that they were by design important.
There’s not enough time nowadays to do anything worthy and timeless, anything we make is unknowingly or knowingly, subject of decay and we know(in some subjects) even less than the people that preceded us,we forget things that helped us get here or that will be useful later and we dont teach them,we’re basically stepping in our shoe laces as we are about to go up the stairs.
Those who forget history are bound to make the same mistakes.
This quote is a crucial pillar of timeless advices and yet no one seems to work by the phrase in their daily life.
If you read the whole thing,if you found this interesting, here’s a bagel for you🥯
this ache, this pain, I can’t tell, is it in the pit of my stomach, or is it within my chest?
It feels like a warning, a premonition. one day, I will collapse, in a heap of tears and red scars, my throat will ache with the need to scream and perhaps I will scream.

Poche cose ma densissime stanno accadendo in questi giorni sempre un po’ più lunghi: Sto creando mappe di senso attraverso una valanga di parole che divoro ogni giorno, mentre scalo montagne che tremano.
