Who Done It? (1942) is a comedy-mystery film starring Bud Abbott and Lou Costello as two dim-witted soda jerks who get entangled in a real murder at a radio station where they work as aspiring writers. The plot follows them as they stumble into a murder investigation, with Costello’s character, Mervin Milgrim, often being the target of gags, while Abbott’s character, Chick Larkin, tries to solve the crime alongside a real writer (Patric Knowles) and a detective (William Bendix). The film is known for its classic Abbott and Costello routines, including the “watts-volts” bit, and was the first A&C film without musical numbers.
