I said I would post the first chapter of my for fun female!Crocodile fic this weekend and it’s now up!

It’s the same premise as this picture!

Broken Lineage

She had to keep moving. Only the strong could live with their heads held high in this new age of piracy. The World Government had long since taken her name, failure had broken her will, and yet she had to keep moving.
When she got on the ship of the revolutionary Dragon she merely wanted passage to the next island. She didn’t expect her secret to come out and she didn’t expect Dragon to make her a deal; they would help her and in turn she would find a young girl that was being hunted by the World Government.

The gist of this self-indulgent fic is: Crocodile is a woman, she’s Rocks D. Xebec’s daughter, she has to keep that hidden, she’s got a dead mom and daddy issues, she gets on a handsome man’s ship because he’s got tomatoes (she’s a D after all, food motivated impulsiveness included) and nothing ever goes according to plan if Monkey D. Dragon is involved.

But I didn’t give him smudged eyeliner, instead he usually gets sharp winged eyeliner in red *lol*

I saw the joke and it gets a small chuckle of acknowledgement from me but I think the lady was a pirate who wanted to run off to try her luck finding the One Piece. >w<

Yes, I saw! On the index finger. I wonder if they left the middle finger empty instead of the ring finger for practical reasons (holding the cigar)…

Like, look at my big ass rings, one’s got a dragon on it and the other has a tiger! Okaaay, Sir Crocodile. Why a dragon and a tiger, care to explain why you went outside of your animal motif when everything else is crocodiles and crocodile leather about you and your villain lair?

Hehehe, yes, these two were insufferable. I’m sure the crew was tired of Garp chasing them and Roger never running away from a fight against Garp. (And that fight always turned very uncomfortable after a while. Maybe Rayleigh and Gaban decided to abandon Roger on an island so he and Garp can “fight” without it being their problem.)

Beautiful! I feel I need to cover my eyes because I’m seeing so much naked skin of Crocodile revealed!

I‘m not sure yet if I should go with Crocodile being WB‘s son in this AU because it would be sad for Croc to lose his father in Marineford (esp. if they never reconnected, though it‘s possible they have.) but then again, I now struggle to see WB as not Crocodile‘s father or at least former captain.

Dragon and Crocodile are Ace‘s fathers and I do wonder how having a family and a place in the world impacts the relationship he might have with Whitebeard. He would admit that he‘s Roger‘s son and that he has parents who raised him, so he‘s not sure he can accept what WB is offering. But pops is a term for grandfather too, right? Maybe even if Ace will not reveal who raised him, WB might see Crocodile in his mannerisms. And maybe WB does know that Crocodile has kids so he can make an educated guess. „I’ll be your grandpa then“ might be acceptable.

I think Whitebeard would like to hear Ace tell stories about his brothers and hearing what Wani‘s like as a parent.

(But you - general you - can give me your opinions on WB as Croc‘s dad.)

I first watched it in German, where they have no accents, it‘s just all standard high German but I have now also seen episode 1 in English. I like the accents in English!

I hope we will see more of Dragon in S3 because I need to loon at this man some more.

The boring answer: probably not a lot.

In my headcanon Dragon’s a whole lot stronger than Crocodile, so if Crocodile punched him, there’d only be a “your Haki needs work” kind of comment coming back.

Crocodile has to think of smarter retaliation, like giving Dragon the cold shoulder, which - in the days where Crocodile was hanging out / working for the RA would be so annoying to Iva in particular, that they would go hound Dragon until Dragon apologized for whatever he did to piss Croco-boy off.

Another form of retaliation might be for Crocodile to decided that if Dragon did not like his outfit, he might as well join him on the next shopping session/ visit to the tailor. And it would be endless and Dragon has no patience for it, but he catches on that he’s being punished and accepts his fate.

And usually, a “apologies. You are very beautiful. Your shirt is ugly” also goes a long way for Crocodile to learn to tolerate that this man has no fashion sense.

Haha, no. Of course he will bluntly say it if he thinks Crocodile is wearing something that looks stupid but he’s not using it to deflect that he doesn’t have any other arguments. Doing that with Wani would be very dangerous.

I think they’re good? I wish we had gotten more of Dragon. I would have liked to see him without his hood and also a bit scruffy. Will we ever see him again? I assume so, because surely there’s got to be a point of him showing up and the Revolutionary Army being mentioned.

Crocodile is pretty, I enjoyed what they did with his eyes. Not sure I’m sold on the vest yet and I’m not sure why they changed the finger that has no ring on it. Maybe he’s still married to Dragon in the live action. He looks kind of over the top, with the extra jewelry and the gold vest and the embellishments on the hook.

I don’t know yet what to think about them changing his goal though. Maybe his original goal (Pluton) will still be mentioned in S3 but they cut it out for now so as not to overcomplicate things.)

Well, in any case, I suppose in the OPLA version, Dragon’s genes were stronger than Crocodile’s. *lol* Sorry, Croc.

What did you think of them?

The LA and canon manga appearances are pretty close, though we did get a bit more, with Dragon trailing Luffy and Garp being informed by Smoker about him. Greedy as I am I wanted even more ;w;

But it was good! (And I saw a couple of new Dragon/Croc, Crocodad posts on twitter, which is very fun X’D Yes, yes! See how good this is!! It might take people seeing hot actor men to understand the glory of the ship, but it doesn’t matter! Come with me, down into the gutter! *lol*)

It might take a while until he can relax enough to throw back shots of booze but Ace chasing after Blackbeard when both his captain and his father told him not to and Luffy breaking into Impel Down and then Marineford? That’s was horrible. When Sabo heard about it he was aghast, but there was no time to really freak out.

Once they both get better and dare to show a hint of an “relax, it all turned out well!” attitude, Sabo’s going to lose it and aims to drink himself into another amnesia.

(Which might lead to some good, tearful conversation with one of his parents, asking them how they can stand the constant terror of losing their family to sheer recklessness and the tyranny of the World Government.)

Let’s say I’m looking for a the picture I drew of Crocodile with a tiny baby Luffy. I know I would have tagged it Crocodad and I know it was one of the first pics I drew. Therefore, I would look for: diminuel.tumblr.com/tagged/crocodad/chrono which will show me all posts I tagged with crocodad, with the the addition of “chrono” meaning that the oldest post will show up first.

And voilà, here it is!

If I’m looking for something that I feel would take too long to scroll because there would be no defining tags (for example the young Dragodile picture where Crocodile is wearing a scarf and Dragon’s got a braid.) I go to my art folder on my computer and scroll through (which might take a while because I never label my stuff properly. This file is called “I dunno Dragon Wani” which isn’t helpful.) Then I go into the file properties and see that I’ve created that on the 26th of August 2024. With that information I go to my archive.

I type in diminuel.tumblr.com/archive or access the link in my header bar. Then on top you can filter by date (“month”), post type and tag. I apply the filters August 2024, photo and Dragodile.

And yes, Stinky Child AU Luffy knows how to sail/ navigate/ how the World Government works etc, because there’s no way that Dragon and Crocodile would let the kids out to sea if they can’t manage on their own.

And since Luffy has been adamant about being a pirate since he’s met Shanks - an no, of course Crocodile isn’t offended that his pirate career wasn’t what motivated Luffy to set sail, nope, not at all - so they had time to make sure Luffy knows his way around a ship.

Luffy has priorities. >w<

Oh noooo! Poor Crocodile got his hopes up! I can just imagine a young Crocodile, really eager to get into this man’s pants and he’s been trying to get Dragon to make a move for ages. And finally!

Good question! I think in Stinky Child AU they might have some moment of teenage angst, especially because their parents do at times make decisions that they don’t like at all and justify them as being for their own good.

This is a family of hot heads, so of course there would be moments where the kids might say something dramatic they don’t mean. But I don’t think there’s ever anything lasting.

Though now I’m imagining Dragon dealing with Sabo going through a phase, maybe after he recovered his memories and really wants to go back home but Dragon won’t let him. And it’s not like Sabo can leave the island though he would probably try. He’s stuck on Baltigo, so he’s making it Dragon’s problem. Lots of “you’re not my dad, are you?” kind of comments aimed to rile Dragon up.

Ace might be the prime suspect of rioting against his parents but I think he’s a lot more secure in who he is and that he’s loved. So while he has some outbursts as a kid, once he’s a teen he’s probably over the worst of it.

I saw the new live action season. It was fun :33

Why does this make me think of the Monkey siblings playing some sort of game (like a table top RPG) and for some reason Luffy’s strategy is always “I want this guy on my crew! Kite! Seduce him!” or “Kite! Have a *insert creature here* baby!” to get new hybrid creatures into the game. Kite’s not pleased. She’s made a bad dating choice once (or twice, who’s counting) and they’re never letting it go.

Why are you so obsessed with the bear, Luffy? Marry the bear yourself!

Luffy is making use of Big Mom’s marriage politics X’D If he gets his siblings to marry strategically, he can collect as many funny people as he can in his wider network! *lol*

(And why can’t Kite marry Torao? Wouldn’t that grant you access to the whole crew? X’D)

The new One Piece Live Action season is airing tomorrow. What kind of spoiler tags are in use? I wasn’t back in fandom when the first season aired so I don’t know what was in use.

Also, what are your viewing patterns? Are you going to binge it all at once? Will I binge it all at once? Probably. I have no restraint and the appointment I had tomorrow got postponed. Convenient, but dangerous for my productivity *lol*
