Ehhhh just a bit disappointed today. It’s really disheartening to see your favorite character who got you into a large fandom be treated like trash and hated on again and again by the massive majority of people.

Especially when it’s such an overlooked character who has flaws that make them unique. If you’re wondering I’m talking about the mcu character Sylvie. I feel like I’m making the wrong choice being a fan of the character or accepting their major flaws. I’m a pretty gullible person and some of my choices and views about characters are influenced by the massive majority and it makes me lose interest in characters. Sylvie is a character with a lot of flaws such as self preservation, aggression and narcissism that stemmed from intense trauma. And while I accept them and find them very interesting, so many other people find it annoying and hate on them while praising a past version of the character who acts very similar.

I’m very sorry about ranting about this but social media just sucks sometimes and it’s hard to know you’re in the losing side and still hold hope.

I swear some Deltarune Woody-type bossses just reminds me of Zora either due to apperance or skills..

OK after playing Tears of the Kingdom I have one very specific gripe about it:

WHY DO THE DEPTHS HAVE NO CHARISMA?!

Like seriously! How cool would it have been to explore an underground jungle made of strange mushroom trees and ferns? Or a sandy ocean that made more use of the sled type traveling device we were taught with cascades of sand or maybe a boneyard? How cool would it have been to have a swampy wetland beneath Lanayru where we get to hear more themes like the Ancient Waterworks with lots of luminescent moss and giant coral trees? Or a frozen glacier that glows in the darkness deep in Hebra? Like we see the volcanic environment for Eldin! I want that for ALL THE BIOMES!!!

I specifically am sad because Lanayru underground would’ve been beautiful. I understand the limitations of the game and time crunch, but beneath Eldin is the only unique kinda biome we get that’s kinda unique, even then it could’ve been a lot cooler. I really wish we could’ve seen giant coral trees or illuminated icicles or glowing strange flora and fauna. The depths are cool but are relatively barren which is disappointing. We could’ve had FALSE STARS IN THE DEPTHS GODDAMMIT!!!

The relationship between a captain and her ship is always intimate in an unquantifiable way. So what happens when the ship suddenly becomes sentient? Just by virtue of them being captain and starship, I think their relationship veers into queerplatonic. Michael is Zora’s Captain, her steward, inextricable from her on a metatextual level. Michael was the first and last person Zora ever spoke to. Zora only exists because of Michael’s actions (merging the Sphere with Discovery, jumping to the future to outrun Control, etc). You can’t describe a Captain’s relationship to her Ship in normative terms.
