I stare at the sun

I stare at the sun
instead of watching where I’m going
I watch the light of my dreams
so bright that I’m blind as the night

twinkle twinkle
I see so clearly
every orbit
but never the satellite that blindsides me

Corner of East Locust and Whitney Blvd: This sidewalk curb is located in the town of Belvidere, Illinois. Not only is this sidewalk in hazardous conditions, it’s also a curb on the corner of a busy intersection. To the right of the curb is a pharmacy and down the street is a popular restaurant and a Planet Fitness. If someone were to pass by with a stroller, a bicycle or hurrying down the street, they could find themselves in a hazardous situation. Especially given that this is on a curb and people can fall into oncoming traffic.

605 Buchanan Street: This sidewalk is located in a residential neighborhood in the town of Belvidere, Illinois. As you can see, the sidewalk has a topsy turvy effect all the way down until it hits the main road again. This particular panel in the center is so badly lifted that anyone passing by with a stroller, bicycle or simply just jogging could stumble and get seriously injured. The patch of grass on the left side even conceals a bit of the severity of the sidewalk, making it more dangerous.
