One of the oldest castles in Slovakia sits 20 minutes up the Danube from Bratislava: Hrad Devín. First mentioned in 864 parts of the castle have been dated back to the 4th century CE. Over a millennia the castle was expanded and exchanged hands between different conquerors. up until 1809 it was never taken in battle but was finally partially destroyed by the retreating forces of Napoleon. Evocative ruins with a long history in a beautiful location. Michalská brána sloužila jako brána městského opevneni, která se nachází ve Starém městě. Zároveň je to jediná dochovaná brána z původních čtyř. Pod branou najdete i světovou ruzici, která ukazuje jakým směrem a kolik km se nacházejí nejznámější města.

Most SNP a na něm vyhlídková věž a restaurace UFO je známa asi všem. Nyní se jedna část chodníku na něm opravuje, budete mít možnost jít pouze po straně s výhledem na hrad.
