I’m opening this space up to anyone who might want to explore these ideas with me.

This project is still in its early stages and is mostly a place for research, discussion, and imagining better ways humans could live in the future. I’m documenting ideas about sustainability, community design, science, philosophy, and how society might evolve if we switch to this way of living.

If any part of this project interests you, you’re welcome to reach out.

You might be interested in:

• the philosophy behind it

• pantheism and spiritual ideas about nature

• solarpunk and sustainable futures

• community design and intentional communities

• science, medicine, and research

• engineering and sustainable technology

• urban planning and architecture

• psychology, sociology, or human behavior

• agriculture, herbalism, and food systems

You don’t have to be an expert in anything. If you’re just curious, want to talk about ideas, or want to help think through parts of the project, that’s enough.

Also, keep in mind that I’m not a professional in these fields either. I’m researching and learning as I go, and this space is meant to be a place where we can learn and explore ideas together.

I’m especially hoping to connect with people younger who are curious about the future and interested in imagining new ways communities could work.

DMs are open if you want to talk about any part of the project, ask questions, or share ideas.

Should I make a community if we gain traction?🤔

a tattoo I’ve wanted for ages is orchids wrapping around one of my thighs because I think the most beautiful lyric ever is

‘I’ve opened my heart for you
Tied ribbons on my ankles for you
Drew orchids on my thighs fo
r you’

hence my username

and Björk’s music has had such a huge impact on me

I just think that would be such a cool tattoo

“This Kind of Feeling” de The Last la tengo que poner a la fuerza.

“Who Put The Bomp!”, ensamblado por Greg Shaw.

Paje.

you know those ya dystopian authors that are like “yeah, this originally started as a utopia, but then i realised it’s actually secretly dystopia”? or maybe that’s just divergent. anyways i want to write a story that’s the opposite of that.

it’s set in a post-apocalyptic vaguely american setting (because it’s always american), and the remaining people have deeply fractured, not just into medium-sized factions but almost into like familes. the story would be set around probably one of these “clans,” with a cast of fewer than a dozen characters, and that’s their entire crew.

the book would go on for way longer than it has any right to, providing lots of time to explore every possible dynamic between every one of these characters, and by the time you approach the climax, you have become as intimately familiar with this crew as they must be with each-other. they are explicitly described as mostly not genetically related, but they are as much of a family as any real family could be.

the climax of the novel would involve them encountering one of these other “clans” (this is their first time coming face-to-face with other people) for like, some food or something. the fighting is intense, and the protagonistic clan seem to be winning. however, when one of the members of the rival clan is seriously injured, the battle abruptly halts as their friend starts begging for mercy, offering up anything the other clan wants in exchange for saving the life of their friend. our heroes recognize in these stragers the same deep bond they share with each-other, and the two clans work together to nurse the injured person back to health.

there’s no happy ending here; no big shadowy organization or oppressive governing figure to take down. it’s just a handful of people fighting to survive. but in this collective life-or-death scenario, these people find something to bond over. they find each-other. and their truly is no greater power than the joy of human connection.

“The dream of all peoples—a world without weapons, a world without wars—despite any initiatives, no matter whether they are strategic or not, is only a utopia within the contemporary content of the State. Nowadays, the State is the biggest, the most powerful criminal organization of continuous robbery of social labor. […] Until now, the class society represents a power of one family that divided for itself the state as private property!”

Been playing Metaphor: Refantazio and learning that the game is partly inspired by Utopia. Bought a map making book only to be jump scared by an example map being the map from the original Utopia. Then doing a double take at Metaphor’s map and realizing that even the world was fashioned around that.

Perhaps I seek certain utopian things, space for human honour and respect, landscapes not yet offended, planets that do not exist yet, dreamed landscapes. Very few people seek these images today.

Utopia Acquires Deadhead Documentary Feature Film “SUMMER TOUR”

Utopia announced today that they have acquired North American theatrical rights for photographer/filmmaker, Mischa Richter’s feature length documentary Summer Tour, produced by actress/director Chloe Sevigny, Mickey Liddell and Pete Shilaimon for LD EntertainmentLizzie NastroEvelina Kirgan, and Richter. LD Entertainment fully financed the film.

The film, which premiered at the Telluride Film Festival in August, captures the enduring spirit of The Grateful Dead and the magic of the Deadhead community through the journeys of multiple generations of fans following Dead & Company on the band’s final tour in 2023.

Utopia will release Summer Tour in the spirit of its subject - a multi-city tour across America in the summer of 2026 that will include both a screening of Summer Tour as well as music performances by Dead-inspired artists.

“We are so happy that Summer Tour has found a home with Utopia,” says filmmaker, Mischa Richter. “We can’t think of a better fit for our film due to Utopia’s experience with and love for music documentaries.”

Summer Tour is a lovingly crafted hang-out documentary that road trips alongside such an iconic music fandom,” says Utopia’s Charlie Sextro. “There’s a timeless quality to Mischa’s film. It’s a love-letter to community, music, alternative lifestyles and gathering together. As a distributor, it inspires us to think of special ways to bring audiences together to experience this wonderful film.”
